This is NOT the lending institution you want to use to get a mortgage. They are clearly not capable. Client bought on 9-30-19 contract sent that day with all addendums. Rep was a waste of time. House built in 2005 and insisted on Lead Base Paint addendum as did underwriting. lead Base paint comes into play with homes built 1978 and before. That was the first indication we were dealing with idiots. Next was appraisal that took place 10-4-19. It was a horrid apprasial as the apprasier couldn't count, used active listings and very old solds when plenty of newer closed in the same area. The appraiser could not add either. It was appealed and the bank stood firm after 19 days! In the meantime the buyers are frustrated and mad as hell because closing is supped to be 10-30 - today. As of 9:00 AM yesterday this lender had not done squat on the loan and buyer and seller were left out int eh cold. Also Camille the loan officer was terrible and unfproffessional. The loan package was finally sent to title at 4:15 PM 10-2919. Of course gettign figures at 4:45 PM doesnt' allow for wire transfer which is being down at 9AM with a closing scheduled at 10AM and I am sure it will be a dry closing. Camille failed on countless times to contact her client the buyer. All texts and emails showing the clients dismay with Regions will be sent to Board of Directors. This is why you never ever deal with community banks - use a lender that knows what's it's doing!
Region’s mortgage has been wonderful to deal with. They’re very understanding and always willing to help you should you need it. Great company
I've had my mortgage with Regions for almost 15 years. Tried to do a refi a couple of times, and for some reason could never get approved, (credit score over 750) not to mention they sent one of my mortgage applications to me through an un secure email method. (I work in the email encryption/security business so I do know the difference) I was instantly approved at other lenders. We bought our 2nd home & I gave my mortgage broker one simple instruction. We will not finance anything through Regions. If you call Regions 5 times you will speak to 5 different people & you will get 5 different answers to the same question. If you ask to speak to a supervisor, then you will get sarcastic responses and nothing more from the supervisors. I will never do business with Regions again.
Two years ago our bonds were sold to Regions Mortgage which at first mattered little. Their online services were better than what we had before. THAT WAS UNTIL we need customer service. For personal reasons, I had to assume the mortgage from my partner, and being self-employed, I had a hard time qualifying, which is normal. But thats not why the bank is horrible. The customer service — slow, ignorant, unresponsive. Completely uninterested. Not getting back with the information. Any information. Every contact takes about six weeks. It's 2019, go elsewhere for your mortgage needs, getter better rates, and better service and online application processes.
I have been a Regions customer for years and even had a mortgage with them. Over the years at while in different management positions I helped several employees get direct deposit through Regions, I even had a representative speak at two companies I worked for. In March of 2019 I sold my house. We were under contract on February 6th, within my Grace period which I previously had not taken advantage of. I asked my realtor if I needed to make the final mortgage payment or if it would mess up the contract numbers. I'm not a realtor, I didn't know. He said that he would contact Regions and let me know. He ultimately told me not to make the payment so I didn't, not that I couldn't have. We closed on the house on March 6th, 2019. I looked at my credit score to see if the balance showed as being paid in full on the 7th, early I know, and to my absolute horror I found that they had reported on March 5th, 2019 that I was between 30-60 days late. I never received a phone call or a letter in regards to this potential travesty. My credit score dropped 130 points! I've called Regions twice asking for some consideration on resolving this mess. I realize this could have been avoided if I'd made the call myself to find out if a payment should be made, that's where I take some blame, I trusted the wrong person or he was told incorrectly when he called. All I'm asking for is human decency from Regions. Up to that point I had a 100% on time payment record with not only them but everyone. I'm a business owner myself and this certainly has the potential to damage my reputation with my suppliers, who by the way would give me an outstanding recommendation for credit until now.
Lea Ann Bryant in Harrison AR is wonderful to work with for a home loan. She is very knowledgable. She is always available if I have questions any time of the day or night. I have never met a mortgage lender who works all hours. Great asset to this company.
Middle class hard working people, please do not waste your valuable time trying to consolidate debt and go from a 30 year mortgage to a 15 year. We have credit scores over 700 and have never had financial trouble. We owe way less on our home than its value. The initial response from regions is that they want to help you and your family. However, they will waste your time and NOT loan you the money with no valid reason for not giving you 80% of the appraised value of your home. Appraisals are “drive by”. Don’t let them sell you on a “great deal” for your family. So disappointed in being treated so wrongly.
Regions does not offer a simple repayment option like paying twice per month to drastically cut the interest that you pay over the course of the loan. Every other bank I have run into offers this. It is incredibly easy thing to do for a ban, but Regions just flat refuses to do it. If you have the choice, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a mortgage.
Regions bank handled our very first mortgage and they did a great job. All the paperwork was filed and approved in a timely manner. The closing at the bank was seamless. The rates they quoted were competitive with many regional banks in Nashville. The staff at the bank was also very professional and helpful whenever we had questions.
I have been a Regions Bank customer since they took over Union Planters Bank years ago. My credit has not always been excellent, but Regions Bank has always treated me with respect and courtesy. This year, I went into Regions Bank to apply for a small loan to pay my underestimated self employment taxes. The transaction was smooth, and I got the best service. While we were in the process of that transaction, my husband I mentioned to our Regions representative that we would love to buy a house in the future. Neither of us thought we would qualify for a home loan, especially since we did not have any money saved. Our Regions representative asked if she could pass our information on to their Mortgage department, and we got a phone call the next day from Regions Mortgage Department. Our Mortgage Department representative met with me, and held my hand through every step of the home buying process. I spoke with her daily, and she was so reassuring. She really made the scary process of buying a new home easy and convenient. She was so knowledgeable, and patient with us. I hope I never have to move again, but if I do, I would not hesitate to contact Regions with all of my Mortgage and lending needs.
In the event that in a given week, for this product, there were multiple applicable rates in our database based on different criteria, the above graph reflects the lowest interest rate recorded. Before submitting an application, always verify with the issuing institution (i.e. bank, credit union, other lender) the rates, fees, and all terms and conditions accompanying the application.
