I have only recently opened an account with Frost National Bank, and so far, I have been quite pleased with the service and the process of becoming a new customer. I like that the checking accounts are customizable in that I can opt to pay solely for the facilities I require, rather than being forced to pay for things I wouldn't use, which is common with other banks. The only problem with this is that they charge you $2.00 per feature! I think this is something that, if they wish to get ahead of other banks and financial institutions, they need to reconsider charging extra for features that can really be done without. The customer service/tellers are very friendly and extremely helpful - the banks themselves are clean inside and out. I do wish, however, that there were more ATM locations for Frost.
I would like to know which other insurance companies Geico compares itself to when boasting that you'll save, "15% or more on car insurance". After doing my own research and requesting quotes from various different insurance companies, Geico actually came out as one of the most expensive for both basic liability, and fully comprehensive car insurance. Less than a year ago, another driver hit my husband's truck, which happened to be parked in the street. There was a moderate amount of damage to the truck's front bumper, so the police were called, and insurance policies exchanged between the driver, and my husband. We took photos of the damage, we called Geico Customer Service/Claims, countless times, and no one ever followed-up on the accident. The truck has never been repaired, and whenever we have called to inquire about the claim for the cost of any repairs, we are told "someone will come out to inspect your vehicle for damage". No one has ever been out to inspect it. It is for this reason that we are going to be changing insurance companies as soon as the most recent policy expires. I wouldn't recommend Geico.
I have been extremely pleased with the overall level of service provided to me by Bank of America. I opened my checking account in 2009 after researching American banks and the fees they respectively charge for both checking and savings accounts. Bank of America proved to be the least expensive. I moved to the States from the UK, so I also needed a bank that would offer me a competitive exchange rate, in addition to free use of my UK card at American ATMs. Bank of America came out tops in both categories. They are part of the Global ATM Alliance which allows me to withdraw cash from my UK account at a Bank of America ATM, only paying the exchange rate fee, rather than the cost of simply using the machine. My only criticism of Bank of America is that there are not enough building locations around San Antonio compared to Chase, nor enough ATM machines that allow me to deposit cash as well as withdraw it.
I have researched other car insurance companies over the past few years, and none quite compare to Progressive when it comes to basic liability. I have been insured with them for almost 3 years, and am very pleased with the level of service that I have been provided. While I have been fortunate not to have to file an insurance claim, I have still had the opportunity to speak with Progressive's Customer Service, who answered my queries regarding my policy in a friendly, easy to understand manner. I am impressed by the low monthly payments and the fact that for only $3 more per month, I could personally request roadside assistance be added to my policy, which beats other similar companies. Over all, I highly recommend Progressive for anyone looking to lower the cost of their monthly fees, but not sacrifice the level of service in doing so.
