A big complaint about banks is that they are out to take your money and only care about themselves. With Pagoda Federal Credit Union those worries are put to rest. The bank is not for profit and is member owned so there is no one out there trying to scam your money. Rather they claim they are there to help and based on the treatment I have had with them I agree. The employees are always very polite, attentive to your needs and make sure they are helping you the best way they can. This bank does not use hidden fees or add on fees but rather they complete transactions professionally and fairly for all parties. I Would recommend it to anyone in the area.
I used Erie insurance for about 3 years on my car. Their rates were competitive and they came as a recommendation from a family member. I never had any issue with my insurance with them. At the time it was not an online account but I mailed the payments each month. The bill came on time and the rates never changed unexpectedly. I never had to file a claim while insured by them. The only reason I switched from this insurer was that I moved and they were not available in my new location at the time. I would recommend them to anyone who finds their rates appealing.
I lived in Maryland for about 5 years and during that time I opened a savings account with this bank. I chose them because the name Delmarva is very popular down there and the name suggests they are a bit bigger than some of the other credit unions. The service I received was very good as I was able to walk in, talk with someone, and open an account in a very short time. They did not require a minimum balance for the savings account which was nice. There was never an issue with my account and I went in about every 2 weeks to deposit money to my account. Each time I was greeted pleasantly. I cannot recommend this bank for people that need constant access to money because I don't know if they can supply that like the bigger banks. However, for good customer service and a savings account that you don't access often they are very good.
I had Progressive for my car for about 4 years. They are a good company with solid customer service and if you get into an accident they know what they are doing and get it resolved in a timely fashion without ever putting you out. The issue I always had with them is all the different choices offered and the price. I've seen the commercials where they say you can save with them and all, but I know from experience they are twisting the truth a bit. Really for the same insurance coverage you get from, say, Geico you are paying way more with Progressive. They do offer special plans and incentives to get the price down but you have to work for them, whereas you can get them right away from another company. For equal service I will always choose the lower price, which in a lot of cases simply is not Progressive.
This credit union is one of the easiest I've ever dealt with. I opened up a savings account within minutes and was treated with a lot of respect. At the time I opened the account I did not have much to contribute to it but that did not change the way they behaved towards me at all. They treated me like I was one of their most important clients and had a lot of money invested with them. Simply making a customer feel good and important, when they know they are not that important, goes a long way in getting business back. I have never had an issue with this credit union and would recommend to anyone no matter how much money he/she has.
I have had a checking account with KeyBank for the last 5 years or so. The bank has grown significantly and is now considered to be among some of the bigger banks in the country. The service at the bank is on par with most banks. The access to my money is good even when I travel. In most places I am able to find an ATM or branch I can make withdraws at. The online service is there but not quite as good as some of the other banks. Hopefully in the coming years this will change. Overall, they are good and I have no major complaints. With that said there is nothing really outstanding either. They are a good bank with a lot of locations and good service.
MJM was the provider of insurance for my first home. I believe they are local to New Jersey so would recommend them only to those in the area. They provided me with a very competitive rate, but the real reason I went with them is I had sent out a lot of requests and they were the first to get back to me in a professional and complete manner. I then compared their rates to other requests that were answered and they were right in line with everyone else. I never had to actually file a claim with them but never had any issues in the years I used them.
I opened a savings account with this credit union a few years back. I had never dealt with the branch before, but the rates were among the best in the area so I went in. The customer service was top notch and the application process was very easy as I had the account open within a few minutes. The only negative part is there was no online access to view my account status. I would go into the branch to deposit into the account and had no problems doing so. I have since moved the money out of the branch due to a move out of the area but would not hesitate to do business with them if I were in the area.
I shopped around for a personal loan to help while I was in school. Education loans did not pay for everything so I needed extra assistance. In calling around I found First Heritage and set up an appointment. The staff was pleasant but not over the top kind, which may have come off as fake. They answered all my questions and were able to assist with a small loan. I never had any issues making the payments and went into the bank once a month. I was always treated warmly. When the loan was paid back that was the end of my relationship with the bank. The time was short but in that time there were no complaints and they were able to help me out. I would recommend them to anyone in the area looking for help.
Farmers was the first insurance I got for my car on my own. Their rates were competitive and they came recommended from a friend. They were good to have until I was rear-ended. It was my first accident and I didn't know the proper procedure so I called my insurance company. Rather than explaining that since it was the other person's fault you go through their insurance, they wasted about 4 days of my time going through all the paper work and sending out someone to look at the car without ever going through the other insurance. After 4 days the error was finally picked up on and everything was done properly. I'm not sure if this is a case of one person dropping the ball or the company as a whole, but either way it was not what I expected from an insurance company and I did not stay with them long.
I opened up a savings account with them because at the time they were offering great rates. I was not familiar with the bank at all but went in and gave them a try. The employees were very courteous and helped to answer all questions. They set up account for me within minutes, and any time I go in there I am always treated well. For a savings accounts this one is very good as you don’t necessary need access to your money at all times. I still have the savings account and would recommend them if someone is looking for good rates and good service. Regarding checking accounts that are always used, you do have less access to your money every day so that may not be the best.
I used this company years back for a car loan. After searching around for a good deal I found they were very courteous and offered a competitive rate. I went in each month to pay the bill because at the time that was the only option. Everyone was always very nice and treated me with respect. If I ever needed assistance with a question or issue I was able to speak to someone right away and have my questions resolved. I never had a bad experience dealing with them. When the loan was paid off I had no problem obtaining a clean title. I did not have any other accounts with them, but would recommend them.
I have dealt with quite a few credit unions through the years. Most of the time I find them to be great in customer service, and that makes up for them not being as large and having less access to your money everywhere you go. Unfortunately with Glendale I found the customer service to be very lacking compared to other unions. I was always rushed through and no one at the branch took the time to get to know me or see if they were helping me to the fullest. When you combine that with less access to money from different locations and lacking online capabilities and I found this union to be a disappointment.
I had an account at this bank for a few years. It was opened for me through my employer so I opened a checking account. The customer service was always top-notch as the employees made you feel like a loyal customer even though I was new and really didn't have much money with the bank. Like at most credit unions compared to the big banks these days access to money is somewhat limited, but the customer service beats out any major bank today and is well worth it. If you have an opportunity to bank with them you won't be disappointed.
I went to them for a car loan a few years back. They were able to help me get a better rate than the large banks I was also trying to work with and their basic customer interest level was much better than the other banks. The only downside I have for them compared to other credit unions I have worked with over the past few years, is that they are not quite up to the same service. Other unions make me feel like I'm not a customer, but rather that the Credit Union is there to serve me. I would recommend them to get a good rate but they are not considered to be the best.
I qualified for this credit union through my sister who worked for University of Pennsylvania for some time. Please note that not everyone will qualify to use them. The credit union is very customer service oriented. They go out of their way to make sure each client is being helped to the fullest extent. I had a checking account with them, and while their products are nothing special compared to other banks and credit unions the service you receive makes them worth while. They don't care how big or small your account is with them, or how well off you are financially, but rather look to treat every customer with respect and friendliness.
Paying for my schooling was not an easy task. I did not qualify for much government assistance and couldn't come up with the money on my own so I needed help. Fannie Mae wasn't much help at the time so I had to go private, and found Service First Credit Union. I was young so did not have much experience dealing with credit unions. They walked me through the process and were able to help me get a competitive rate. They couldn't help me pay for all my education but the amount they loaned me did help a lot. I would not hesitate to go back to them in the future.
Normally when I think of credit unions I think of one location and a bit inconvenient. However with Three Rivers Federal Credit Union you get multiple locations which makes banking with them so much easier. Granted they are not located on the other side of the country so if you are traveling it is still difficult, but it is nice if you are at work you can go to one branch, at home another, across town another. With one branch it is hard to do necessary banking with a credit union but Three Rivers makes it very easy with all their branches. The personal service you get does drop a bit with multiple branches but it is still way above anything you get from the large banks.
I went to Wepco years back for a car loan. Some of the larger banks in the area would not assist me because it seemed you needed perfect credit. I found Wepco by chance and decided to go in and talk to someone. I found them very polite from the beginning and they worked with me to find what I need and how they can help. They were able to take an application and approve me for the car loan. I have since moved from the area, and the car is now paid off but if you are near Wepco it is worth checking out if you need assistance. They are professional and helpful.
For years people used to tell me you should check out a credit union for your money and I never understood why until I tried it. If you are tired of being treated poorly by the big banks and companies the credit unions are the way to go. The people in the branch are always friendly and over time really build a relationship with you as a customer and a person. They don't have thousands upon thousands of people to deal with so they put more attention into the customers they do have. The money I have gets very competitive interest compared to larger banks. The negative side about Valley is the ease of getting money if you need it or if you travel. Yes you can get it out but at a lot of ATMs you will run into a fee and there are no branches elsewhere. So I choose to keep savings that I know I don't need to touch normally with the credit union. I would also not hesitated to go with a loan with them if needed.
This company is really making an effort to get noticed. Their commercials are everywhere and recognizable and their prints ads are in lots of magazines. For all the advertising work they do they do back up what they claim. There are many agents available it seems in every city to answer your needs and they are available any time you need them. They also do well in explaining your policy so you understand everything. The only drawbacks from this company are: 1. They hound you non stop when they want something from you, whether it is selling you a new product or getting you to join other parts of their insurance 2. They are a bit more expensive then the other insurance options out there. The service is good but the bugging I could do without.
I had Farmer's insurance on my home for about 4 years. At the time they were a bit of a lesser known company (at least to me) but I was shopping around for quotes and they gave me a very good quote so I decided to go with them. I never had any issues in those 4 years. I never actually filed a claim with them, but any time we did have to communicate it was always professional and accurate. I had one agent who would always be the one to contact me which made it a lot easier to always recognize when it was real information that I had to pay attention to. When I moved from the home I did go for them for another quote but this time the price was a bit higher and I chose a different company. For the right price I would not hesitate to do business with them again.
State Farm was the first car insurance company I had. They provided very good coverage but the price of the coverage was a bit more expensive then other companies. The reason I used them first was because my parents recommended them, but after about 2 years I shopped around and found the same insurance for cheaper. I never had any issues with State Farm as every thing was well run and customer service was always available to help. If the price was the same as some of the competitors I could fully recommend State Farm but with a higher price it is not worth the same coverage.
To me the best car insurance is the one you don't even have to think about. I have had Geico for about 8 years now and every month it basically takes care of itself. My rates are very low which is a huge plus. The online website allows me to do everything I need to with just a few simple clicks. When I have been in an accident there has always been a customer service agent that is willing to listen, answer questions, take care of my needs, and explain the whole process. I have never had an issue with opening, handling, or closing a claim. If money was owed to me it has always arrived on time and as promised. They allow you to control your own plan and choose what works best for you.
I had a mortgage with Chase Bank for about 8 years. They were not the original owner of the mortgage so I can not accurately describe how helpful they were with applying. I can say that once they obtained the mortgage the maintenance, paperwork, and paying of the mortgage was very simple. The online site for Chase allowed me to get all access to my mortgage any time I wanted. If I had any questions a simple click and I was talking to a representative online who was always knowledgeable and helpful. All documentation of the mortgage I ever needed I could get online or order and have within 2-3 days. Their service was always quick and easy. If we had more banking locations of Chase near us I would highly consider switching my full banking to them, but at this time location is an issue. I would highly recommend working with them due to their professionalism and ease.
This bank does business the way banks are supposed to do business. There is no hidden agenda behind them. Their representatives are always polite and always seem to have the customer's best interests at heart. The problem is that they are regional and so if you have a checking account with them you are very limited if you travel. I have to have another bank account with another bank to ensure that when I travel far I have access to my money. I am not willing to pay the ATM fees at other banks to get my money. If they were bigger they would be perfect!
Have had a credit card with them for years. They were one of my first cards and very willing to work with me. Over the years I have never had a serious issue with them, and any issues that do come up they handle well and are courteous. Any fraud on the account is handled in a timely and fair manner. The rewards through their cards are also very good. When traveling their cards are accepted everywhere so there is never an issue with them. While many credit card companies have a lot of unfair practices, I have found Citi to be upfront and helpful.
While Wells Fargo is not my primary bank I do have a mortgage with them. After trying to use my primary bank I went to Wells Fargo to see if they could help with a mortgage and I was pleasantly surprised. The service I received was prompt and courteous. They walked me through each step and explained the process in detail. There was no hidden disclosures, and they were able to get me a very competitive rate. I would recommend Wells Fargo to any one looking for assistance, and may eventually move my main accounts over to them as well.
Bank of America has a great online website and mobile access is second to none. The ease of use is great and there are many locations all across the country. They are great to use until there is an issue. When an issue arises you are often times you are left on your own. The bank is very reluctant to help anyone without 100% perfect credit, and no matter how big of a relationship you have built with them will not look to help you when you need it. If you are looking for convenience they are great but don't count on too much help from them down the road.
