We recently moved to the "Treasure Coast" in Florida, and had to transfer some of our accounts to a local bank. Our realtor recommended Space Coast Credit Union. I have been with some credit unions in the past, and always been satisfied. We went into a local branch and it took us almost 25 minutes before we could speak with a customer service rep. Once we did, she was very helpful, though tried to upsell us on a lot of accounts that we did not want or need at the time. The account was opened quickly, though when we received our debit cards, my name was backwards, with my last name first, though my husband's was correct. They immediately sent a new one to us, so there really were no issues there. There are a lot of local branches all up and down the coast, and their fees and such were very clear and well-laid out for us. So far we just have 2 checking accounts set up, but if they continue to resolve any issues in a good manner, we will look to move some of our investment accounts there.
Southern Federal Credit Union was my first credit union banking experience. I applied for and they gave me a loan for my first car. Being fairly young and in college, I really knew next to nothing about banking, loans, finance, interest rates, etc. Their customer service representative really helped me out and was friendly and caring. She walked me through the entire application process, explained the interest rate to me, etc. She helped me qualify for the lowest rate with the down payment that I could afford. I also opened my checking account and set up direct deposit from my job, and she connected it to a savings account that would make automatic deposits so I could easily start saving. She even set up automatic bill pay for my car payment so I didn't have to worry about anything. Southern Federal is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are a fantastic credit union, and I've been very happy with them.
We purchased a second home in the area when my husband was attending grad school at Florida A&M. We wanted a local credit union, and I can say that Florida A&M University Federal Credit Union was a complete pleasure to work with. The customer service representatives are friendly and always take the time to get to know you on a more personal level than you will ever find in the big banks where you are only a number. In fact, I have switched most of my accounts to credit unions in the last few years and find less hassle and fewer problems. The website has great features that make maintaining my account access easy and convenient at any time of the day or night. I recommend this great credit union to anyone who likes a comfortable, easy going financial company to work with regarding a wide range of financial products, including a mortgage.
We just love AAA – our whole family. AAA has been a part of my family for over 20 years. They have been very helpful with towing when my daughter's car broke down when she was only 17 (AAA had someone tow it to a nearby car mechanic), so it seemed like the right place to go when we needed to get auto policies for our family. They are always so nice to talk to, helpful, and have been fantastic about two claims that we have filed. They had an adjuster out to see that car the same day in one case, and the next day with the other. They have very easy to understand disclosures, wonderful customer service, and fantastic problem resolution. The great part is the discounts for car insurance when you are an AAA member, which has saved us a lot with teenage drivers. In addition, being an AAA member gets me tons of discounts – at restaurants, movie theaters, hotels, and car rentals, among other places. We definitely recommend AAA not only for auto insurance, but the membership as well.
I was a member of Cobblestone Country Federal Credit Union until around September 2011, when we moved out of the area. I always found them quite helpful and their people very friendly, although at times they would get very busy at the branch I went to and people seemed sort of stressed. The tellers and customer service were well-trained and well-intentioned, but it seemed they were staffed at a level that was much too low for any sort of big rush of people. So, paydays and end-of-month banking times were a horrible time to visit, and people would have a long wait to see a teller. However, the tellers were always friendly and tried to do their best. The “short-staffing” was most evident when looking for service beyond what could be done at the teller's window, that is, when I needed a customer service representative or banker. To ask a question, apply for a loan, etc, on a busy day was next to impossible, unless one wanted to wait for a very long time. Other than those issues, however, they were quite good to work with.
I needed a fair and good bank to open a new savings account with. I didn't want to use the same bank for checking and savings because my other bank did not offer a good enough interest rate. I was not happy with their rate, so I decided to switch over to Citizens Bank and open my savings account with them. I've had it for about 3 years now, and have been very happy with it. I haven’t had any issues with the services, and was then able to purchase some CDs to assist in saving. I can do all of my banking online, which is the most important feature that I look for in a bank. I would much rather enjoy the convenience of a great online interface than receive a lousy one and get a little extra interest. Citizens Bank provided me with user-friendly online abilities and a better interest rate than my old bank, so I took the chance and was very glad I did. I recommend the bank if you are looking for a good savings account and very good CD rates.
Our experience with Coastal Carolina Community Bank has been awesome! Every time I have used this bank the customer service has been very quick and friendly. Almost every time I have gone in, there are no long lines or waits. The staff is fast, efficient, and always eager to please their customers. They are always willing to work with you as a customer, and have made great recommendations to us when we moved to South Carolina. They will take time to explain all of the terms and conditions so there is no confusion. Ever since we have been customers with Coastal Carolina Community Bank, we have gotten all of our statements on time and never incurred any kind of overdraft or other fee. There are some great benefits to opening an account of any kind with Coastal Carolina Community Bank, but best has been the “small town”, community-oriented atmosphere, as they know the area and people very well. Overall I would rate them 4 stars and I would recommend this bank to anyone along coastal SC, because of the great customer service and benefits.
I went to Lexington MA Federal Credit Union for my car loan a couple of years ago. They were extremely helpful with everything and the whole process went smoothly. I've been very happy with my rate and the customer service is second-to-none. They're always so kind and helpful, and it may be old-fashioned, but I really like that they call me by name and remember me when I go in there. They really are friendly, and seem to enjoy what they do. Each time I go in to make a payment, or just with a question, I always leave satisfied and content with my choice to go to Lexington MA Federal Credit Union for my car loan needs. I recommend them all the time and my son and daughter-in-law are now using them for their car loans also.
Payan, Alberts & Thompson has been a really great car insurance company so far. I have been driving for more than 20 years, and this car insurance has been nothing but absolutely fantastic, and the company has wonderful customer service. I have had a few minor fender-benders, mostly due to New England winters and snow/ice, but all of my claims have been taken care of right away. I still love the very low rates this company provides, even after my one traffic violation. After the one ticket that I got my rates have only risen by a little bit, way less than I expected. So yet again I would say Payan, Alberts & Thompson has been an amazing insurance company to have over these past years. I would most definitely recommend it to any of my friends, family, or coworkers.
I want to take the time to mention my experience with Vermont Federal CU. Last year, my ancient car died and I had to sell it. Since Vermont tends to be very muddy in the late winter and spring, I really needed to buy something with AWD or 4WD, which can be expensive. I didn't want to buy a new car, but wanted a simple used car for a fair price. I found one that I liked and wanted to buy, and needed to take out a loan to do it. I have had my checking account with Vermont Federal CU for years, so automatically I went to them to inquire about the loan. I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Their customer service was fantastic. They sat me down, discussed all my options, the different interest rates per option, and we came up with the loan that would work out best for me. Even the paperwork is never that fun or that simple, but with their assistance, I was done with it and approved for the loan within a few days. I was so happy, and they pretty much guaranteed my loyalty as a customer because of all the assistance I was given. I highly recommend Vermont Federal CU.
Hunt Insurance Agency is a really great insurance company. They have helped my husband and me out in our time of need and we were so grateful. They have great policies, which seem to be in place to protect other clients and themselves. When we first built our house, we were really happy because this was our dream home, and we had been saving for a long time to be able to get exactly what we wanted. Less than 18 months later, our basement flooded severely due to a horrible storm, and the basement walls were ruined, along with our furnace and some furniture in storage. We contacted them immediately, and were so grateful at their dedication to quality service and their ability to take care of their customers' needs. We would recommend them to anyone who wanted very acceptable coverage for a good price, to whom customer service is of real importance! Thank you so much, Hunt Insurance!
American Eagle Federal CU was indeed one of the best choices I have ever made, as there was a credit union before this one that gave me problems, hassles and unpleasant surprises and services. One of my neighbors recommended it to me when she found out that I was looking for a mortgage lender and bank. I was not sure about it at first, because I had only been with one credit union before, and not with a good result. Because I had had many problems before, I was really hesitant getting another one. When I went to American Eagle for information, I was surprised to find out the benefits for all my needs, and they made the whole checking account/Money Market process very simple and quick, and the mortgage process was good (I think those are a whole lot of stress anyway, but this went better than I expected, so I rate it "good"). I got pre-approved for my mortgage in a few short weeks, and was able to purchase and close on my home shortly thereafter. Overall, American Eagle Federal Credit Union is still one of the best choices I have ever made. I would strongly recommend it for everyone.
We went to E Federal Credit Union to assist my elderly mother with her banking needs. It truly was indeed one of the best choices we ever made for her. We had moved her to LA be close to us, and she was very hesitant about going to a new credit union, as she had been with original one in Texas for 35 years. Our neighbors recommended it to us when she found out that we were looking for a credit union. We were struck immediately at how helpful and friendly they were, and helped us through the entire process. My mother's comfort was most important, and she immediately felt at ease. She ended up opening a Money Market and a Checking, and later on they also were able to assist with estate planning. We have been and continue to be impressed with their customer service, and my mother even took out a small loan for some home improvements in her new condo. The whole process was made very simple, and they kept us informed every step of the way. We can only say good things about EFCU.
We (my college roommate and I) started with UW Credit Union when we first were students at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. I would highly recommend UWCU to any college student looking for a local credit union. Their requirements to be eligible for free services are extremely reasonable, which is great for college students on a budget, and their fees are really incredibly low. I can't think of a time I felt like I was being unfairly charged or treated, and every time I had an issue or need advice, they have been polite and have the issue resolved by the next day at the latest, usually the same day. Their customer service is second to none, and helped me transfer my accounts from my home state of PA. I would highly recommend the UW Credit Union to anyone.
We went to Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union to assist my elderly mother with her banking needs. It truly was indeed one of the best choices we ever made for her. We had moved her to be close to us, and she was very hesitant about going to a new credit union, as she had been with original one in Texas for 35 years. One of my friends recommended it to us when she found out that we were looking for a credit union. We were immediately greeted by a woman who took us in right away, and helped us through the entire process. We wanted my mother to feel comfortable, and she immediately felt at ease. She ended up opening a Money Market and a Checking, and they also were able to assist with estate planning. We have been and continue to be impressed with their customer service, and my mother even took out a small loan for some home improvements in her condo. The whole process was made very simple, and they kept us informed every step of the way. Both myself and my family strongly recommend FTFCU for everyone.
My husband and I have nothing but praise and good things to say about Jan and all of the employees we dealt with at SEFCU! When we moved to New York and started our home hunting, we wanted to get a pre-approved in a quick and easy manner with a minimum of hassle. My husband's employer had recommended SEFCU, and we contacted them. We have been through this process several times before, and while it's never been horrible, it's never been a good process. But Jan got things rolling right away, gave us all the necessary paperwork and items we needed, and we were able to simultaneously look for our home while the approval process was going on. She kept us updated every step of the way, and we were able to find and be in our home in a very short amount of time. I highly recommend SEFCU for all of your banking needs, but especially the mortgage process.
One of my biggest regrets when we moved out of the New England area was that I would have to find a new policy for my car insurance! Vermont Mutual, through my agent in NH, had been my insurance provider for over 20 years. We had to file claims several times (due to those slippery New England winter storms), and they always had an adjuster to us within 24 hours of our calling. We always got a very fair settlement and were always able to use our top choice of auto body shops. We have used Vermont Mutual for other insurance also, including our boat. Their customer service reps are top-notch and knowledgeable, much better than even some of the "national" companies these days. Vermont Mutual is the absolute best at what they do.
When we first moved to Cincinnati several years ago, we were in the process of buying a home, and needed a place to "park" our money in a safe place for a few months. A new neighbor friend had given me many recommendations for restaurants, grocery stores, malls, etc., so I also asked her about a bank. She said her family had been with Cincinnati Federal Savings for years. I called them, and then stopped by the branch in Price Hill with my husband. We explained what our needs were for the time being, and they sat down with us and recommended several CDs and Money Market accounts that we could safely keep our money in while we searched for a home, and it would continue to earn interest. They made the application process very easy. We ended up opening a checking account there also, and was truly impressed that every time I went to that branch, someone called me by my name! I do wish they had online capabilities, but overall we were very satisfied.
I was really dissatisfied with the car loan terms offered by a dealership, and my friend had recommended BB&T Financial several times before, so I called them. I must say it was the easiest process I have ever gone through to get a car loan (I have had at least 5). The woman I spoke to, Elise, was the sweetest and very helpful. She explained their process since I was not a current customer (I am now) and their terms. I eventually went into a branch, and I encountered the same type of customer service at the branch as well - honest, caring and knowledgeable people that were intent on my needs, even though I was not yet a customer. I was so happy and satisfied that I did eventually open a checking and Money Market account with BB&T. I can't say enough good things about them. They were even helpful with contacting the car dealership themselves when they needed to, all done in a very timely manner.
I can only say good things about the customer service and products offered by TD Bank. I opened my accounts and my kids accounts in a New Hampshire office, and they made the process so easy. They gave me a full overview of all the services and products, and helped me decide which would be best for me, while saving me money on fees and services that I may not necessarily use. Every time I had a question or had to call, my call was answered quickly or if someone had to return my call, that was done promptly.
I was at first sort of thrilled when my bank, Wachovia, was bought out by Wells Fargo. I thought this would help me to invest my money more efficiently, and I would have access to different kinds of checking and savings accounts for my children. Unfortunately, this has not been the case at all. I was recently notified that my previously free checking, is now going to be charged a minimum of $12.00 per month. Not a great deal in the overall budget, but this was a free checking account I signed up for, and now they are "changing the rules" midstream, so-to-speak. When I recently had a few questions regarding a large deposit I made to a High Value Money Market Account, I called the branch I normally go to in Rocky Mount, NC. The phone rang for at LEAST 10 minutes, without any answer or voicemail. I called back several times, and still received no answer AT ALL. They call this good service?? I cannot believe that a company, in the customer service industry, would not answer their phones. I even called the other branch in Rocky Mount, with the same results. In my honest opinion, it is deplorable that a company would act this way. I had to actually take a 1/2 day out of my time to go into the branch, then wait for over 2 hours, while they only had one person in customer service. I really look forward to changing my accounts, and telling them why I am doing so.
