To be honest Ive never given this bank/institution much thought despite being a native Georgian. I pretty much did the norm and joined suntrust saving bank. I was introduced to FCB by a friend and they were explaining to me their interest rates, the lack of monthly fees and all of the key points and advantages FCB has. Afterwards i did my due diligence and went online and did my research. After checking out the website and going over the terms and agreements i decided to go into a local branch and check them out first hand. The patron were warm and friendly. They sat me down and went over the plus/minus of having a direct savings account with them as well as some of the advantages and perks of FCB. I compared it to suntrust (which i have no ill-will towards) and the deciding factor was a higher interest rate and the special/promotion they had going on. A year later and i still have no complaints
Worst card EVER!!!!!! The customer service is pretty much non existence. They are just horrible.... Then on top of that it seems every time i did call i was placed on hold or the phone just "magically" disappeared. And they always direct you to mail... not EMAIL but postal service mail customer service. The interest rate DRASTICALLY increase. This is suppose to be a starter card to establish or reastablish credit but what it is is just damn near loan shark, title pawn status. Hell for how they treat you and charge interest you might be better off taking a loan from big tony in the back of a wine cellar warehouse. DO NOT USE/APPLY for this card. They blow big baby chunks. I would seriously encourage and suggest NO ONE to apply or get this card. This could easily be one of if not THE worst card company there is out there. I repeat do not use or apply for this card. It would be a mistake of epic proportions. There are better options out there including many secured credit cards. Many to which are being offered by your local banking institutions. Many credit unions also offer credit cards for people who are trying to establish or reastablish there credit score.
I have been with BB&T for a year now and I have no complaints. With locations available in most kroger groceries and walmarts, dealing with issues or concerns in person isnt a problem. Whenever I have a question or a concern they are always there to help me out and they always give me exceptional customer service. The checking account is easy to access through the bank website. The only thing I have found odd about BB&T is I found them to seem somewhat old and out of touch with current technology. The lack of check scanning/deposit via cellphone is a minus. Overall though it is a decent bank for a local neighborhood branch banking
capital one is a good card for people trying to establish credit or trying to rebuild their credit
I am writing to express my gratitude and thanks for them introducing and explaining to me how cd's work and the benefits of having them. I had been reading and hearing info about cd's and how they are more beneficial then just having a saving account. Not knowing much about them i went into my local cdc credit union and spoke with a financial adviser about the matter and she very eagerly explain the process and the pros and cons to having a cd. She explained to me the concept behind it, how it draws a larger interest rate then a traditional savings account. She also told me that unlike a regular savings account, cd's must be maintained and cannot be touched for a determined time period that the customer (in this case being me). and if you touch the cd there will be a early termination penalty that will be accessed to the cd/money. After her step by step explanation and reviewing the terms and guidelines i decided to open and create a cd with the institution.
I recently had an issue with my checking account to which someone must have either stolen my identity or somehow someway gained access to my DCU account. I was out school shopping and upon trying to use my card, i got a message declined from the cashier. I then went to my phone only to see i had a missed called. I returned the call only to find out it was DCU to ask me whether certain charges were made on my account and that they seemed fishy. We reviewed the charges and found the that several purchases were made from the other side of the country. DCU not only reverse the charges, but they also didnt charge me overdraft fees and help me set up a new account and shipped me a new card within a few days.
