I really like this card -- unlike most other store cards this one gives you the rewards upfront in the form of 5% off -- no waiting for rewards to accumulate, it saves you money right then and there!
My husband's car is insured under USAA -- and has been for the past seven years. I must say, they have by far the best customer service out there. The rates are alright -- they are a bit more expensive (in my opinion) than Progressive (which our other car is insured under), but they are far more responsive, helpful, and trustworthy. In fact, as I write this, I am questioning myself as to why we still have my car insured under Progressive. Not everyone can be insured through USAA, I know it is limited to military members and their families, but if you are able to insure through USAA I would do it -- you will have great customer service!
I have been a Progressive customer for about five years. I have had no real problems with working with the company, but I also have not had any experience which left me feeling like they were a great insurance company. The only issue I had with them occurred last year when I was involved in a car accident which was not my fault. The Progressive agent encouraged me to handle the claim through them -- pay my own deductible and then get refunded for the deductible from the other insurance company. I am pretty sure they were trying to come out ahead money-wise, and for me it made no sense -- instead I settled with the other company and got a good price for my totaled car. Progressive is fine, I just wouldn't count them among top insurers -- you get what you pay for.
I love Chemical Bank! Sadly I am no longer a customer -- this is only because I moved down south -- far out of their service area. I was a loyal customer for about 5 years and never had a bad experience. I would say they really excel at customer service, I have never had a personal relationship with tellers at a bank like I did there (at least at the branch I frequented). I wish I could find a bank like Chemical Bank down here. Aside from their great customer service also enjoyed the low fees and minimum balance requirements - I didn't have to worry about a hidden fee drafted out of my account.
I have been a Citi credit card user for many years. I have had good experiences working with them on the credit card side of things. However I have not had the best experience when it comes to the savings account which I opened with them a few years ago. Twice I have tried to close it -- since it is hard to get money out of and I don't like that there are no banks that I can walk into to get assistance. I am frustrated with their lack of help when it comes to closing an account, or looking into other options. They have been good about not charging fees, but I do not feel like there have been any other benefits.
I am one of the many people who became Wells Fargo customers as a result of the Wachovia buy-out. My experience with Wells Fargo has been a bit unique because of this -- I never sought out or research Wells Fargo prior to becoming a customer. However, so far I have been quite happy. Wells Fargo has honored the programs which I signed up for with Wachovia and has allowed me to continue banking in the same way. I have not had to change any of my accounts, account numbers, or experienced any fees. Wells Fargo so far has been great. As long as you are an active customer you really don't have to worry about fees for accounts and I have never had a problem with finding a Wells Fargo, in fact, I just traveled to the Mid-West from the South and had no problem finding a Wells Fargo to take care of my banking needs -- that would not have been possible with Wachovia.
