Clearchoice is a fairly good credit union. It is certainly better than most of the large banks that I have been a customer of in the past. Their employees are always polite and helpful, and always try to make me feel appreciated as a customer. Sometimes things do not get done quite as quickly as they do in large banks, but that is something to be expected in these small credit unions. My big complaint about them is the fairly high minimum balance requirements that they have with their accounts. For many people it might not be an issue, but if you struggle to keep up that balance, you might want to look elsewhere.
I had a checking account and a savings account at Hancock Bank for about a year, and I closed those accounts as soon as I got a chance. The service at Hancock was not bad. In fact, all of their employees that I encountered were very nice people. However, my reason for closing my accounts here were all the ridiculous fees that they charged for every little thing. It always seemed like I was getting hit with a service charge for something. The charges were never big, but they added up quick. If they would stop doing all of those silly charges, they would be a good bank. However, until that day comes, I would stay away from Hancock.
I used to have insurance for my car from these folks at Danbury Insurance. I was very content with the quality of service, and have no complaints about them. I got a good rate on car insurance, which surprised me because I was only 23 when I was covered by them. Usually insurance would be very expensive at that age, but they offered me a good price. They are also a smaller insurance company than the big national ones. They only cover New England, and they certainly seem to have more of a personal level of service than the major companies known nationwide. If you live in an area that they cover, you cannot go wrong with Danbury.
Ally bank is definitely one of the best banks that I have had an account with! Their customer service is simply one of the best in the business. I have always been treated very nice and politely by all the employees in all of the branches I have been too. I have a checking account and a savings account with Ally. The savings account offers very little interest, and that would be my only major complaint. However, considering that most interest rates are abysmally low these days, Ally is not any worse than the norm. They have also covered ATM fees for me on several occasions, and that was very nice to have them do that. I would certainly recommend them to anyone! They are a great bank!
I get my home insurance from Bankers Insurance Company. Thankfully I have not had to file any serious claims during the time that I have been using their service, but I can still say that I am very pleased with them. The only claim I have had to file was when my window was broken. There were some children playing baseball across the street and one accidentally threw the ball a little too far, and it found its way through the window in my house. The insurance agents quickly stopped by and got everything taken care of quickly. Their prices are also very fair and reasonable in my opinion. They offered me the best prices of all the insurance companies I was considering, so I chose them.
A few years ago I opened up a checking account and a savings account here at HSBC. I have been thoroughly pleased with the experience thus far. They may not be the best bank around, but I have never had any problems with them. Their employees in the bank are always helpful and attentive, and allow me to get in and out of the bank as quickly as possible. That is great whenever I am in a hurry. The savings account has a very poor interest rate, but that can be said of just about every bank now. They do offer overdraft protection, but I have never had to use it so I cannot comment on that.
I got my car loan through the New Orleans Firemen's credit union. They were very nice to me, and made the whole process very simple and extraordinarily easy. I am very pleased with there level of service. The big banks always seem so cold and impersonal, but the service here at this small credit union is very much tailored towards the customer as a person. They did a credit check to see if I qualified for the loan, and before I knew it, I had been approved. They were very quick and efficient, making the loan application a very pleasant experience. If I ever need another loan, I will certainly do it with this credit union again.
I got a car loan from the nice folks at the Wyoming Area Federal Credit Union back when I was living in that area. They were very pleasant to work with and I would recommend them to anybody. They got me approved pretty quickly, which was a bit of a pleasant surprise for me. Smaller credit unions like this are not usually very fast, but these guys are wonderful. I got a pretty good rate on the loan, and I have good credit. The people there seemed to treat me like a friend rather than just another number. That's why I really like the smaller credit unions like this. They have a few small downsides due their small size, but they are much nice to work with when compared to the international banks.
I used to have my car insurance through Lone Star when I lived in Texas. I never had any problems with them, but their service was not exactly the greatest. It took me a little while to get approved, and it seemed like everything moves slowly with this insurance company. Their agents would respond to my questions, but sometimes their responses were a bit inadequate and only left me with more questions. The good thing about their service is that was low cost. I don't think I could have gotten a better price with another company. I just wish their service would have been better, but sometimes you take what you can get with low-cost insurance.
When I was going to Louisiana State University I needed a student loan because the federal loans offered were just not going to be enough to get me through college. I got the loan through these folks at the Campus Federal Credit union, and I have to say I was very happy and satisfied with the experience. The application process was fairly simple and straightforward. They clearly gave me all of the details for me, and I felt very sure that I was getting a good deal. The interest rate was not bad at all, and though I'm still paying off this loan, I know that I won't be buried by a bunch of debt.
I've had a Wells Fargo checking account for a little over 4 years now. I've been pleased with some things that they have done, but some things have irritated me a little bit. When I started out, there was no monthly fee for the account so long as I had $1000 in it. No problems there. However, they increased it a few months ago to $1500. Not a big deal, but I got hit with a $15 fee because they did not notify me in time, and I was unable to get the minimum balance in time. My least favorite part has been their service in the banks. Some of the employees are helpful, but many are not. One time I went in to deposit $400 in coins and the teller looked at me like I was crazy. I had it rolled and everything, but they did not seem to understand that people might actually deposit coins. They eventually got everything done, but I had to wait nearly a half hour. The deposit did not show up in the account until a month later. That has led me to consider changing banks, though I have not done it yet.
One of my friends recommended this great credit union to me when I needed a small loan a few years back. I am glad to say that my experience was very good with the Municipal Credit Union. Their workers were a joy to work with and carefully explained to me all the details I needed to know, and were always very open to answering my questions. That was very nice of them to do so. As someone recently out of college I did not expect to get a very good rate on a loan, but these fine chaps were willing to help me out, and I thank them very much. It was only a small loan, but I was in great need of the cash. Thanks to the Municipal Credit Union, I managed to avoid those loan sharks that are always out to get people.
My car loan was done through the Texans Credit Union, and for the most part it was a very good experience to deal with these folks. It took a while for the whole approval process to get done, but other than that it was a perfect. These guys offered a very good rate on the car loan that beat other offers that were given to me. Their representatives were also very friendly to work with. They made me feel like I was a valuable customer. I did not have a car before this, and these guys helped get me my first set of wheels. Thank you very much Texans Credit Union!
I've had my home insurance with Payan, Alberts &Thompson for quite a while, and I have been very pleased with their quality of service. Their people were very helpful and informative when I was asking for information to determine which insurance company to go with. They seemed like very friendly people who wanted to help me. To them I was not just another customer, but I was like a friend. Now that I've had their insurance for a while, I am still very impressed. The only claim I have had to made was when my neighbor's kid through a baseball through my window. These guys came out quick to assess the damage, and everything was done very quickly.
My experience with Allstate has been mostly good. I've had my car insured with them for a little while now, and I've been more or less satisfied with the service. The price they offered is fairly good and competitive with most of the big name insurance companies. However, whenever I renewed the following year, those rates increased a bit, but still aren't bad. While the price might have gone up some, they were very easy to work with when I had a little fender-bender a few months ago. Someone wasn't paying attention when I was stopped at a red light, and rear-ended me. Thankfully I was ok, but the car got banged up. The Allstate agent that I worked with was very polite and courteous, and helped get my car fixed up as quickly as possible.
I've had home insurance from State Farm for about a year now and the experience has been pretty good. They were very helpful when I was initially requesting information from them, trying to decide which insurance company to go with. I settled with State Farm because I felt like their customer service was the most pleasant to deal with. They always responded quickly and clearly to all of my questions. I have not had to file any claims with them during this year. Hopefully I will not have to file any claims, but if I do I am sure they will be very helpful, just like they were in the application process.
I had my car insured with Geico for almost two years. Overall I would say the experience was pretty good, but there are some things that they could have done better. What attracted me to Geico in the first place was their low price. I was a student at the time I purchased car insurance from Geico, and they offered a discount for students with good grades. I only had to file one claim with Geico when my car had hail damage after a storm. They were easy enough to deal with, but it took them a while to pay for the repairs. It was not a big problem, but when the opportunity came up to go with another company, I took it.
I have had my car insured by Traveler's for about 3 years now, and I would have to say that the experience with them has been very good. They are priced very well compared to insurance companies I have been with in the past. I have only had to make one claim with them when my car was rear-ended by some guy at a stop light. The Traveler's agent was very friendly and helpful with me in getting everything solved and getting my car fixed. They are always very quick in responding to my questions via email and phone, and overall I must say that they are much better than any insurance company I have worked with before. Their customer service team treats you like a respected customer, and not just a number.
