I have to say that State Farm has been of great service to me, as well as many of my family members when it comes to insurance. I carry an automobile policy on two cars. I was involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist approximately a year ago. State Farm held my hand throughout the entire process of filing the claim and receiving payment for my totaled vehicle. I received payment very quickly, and for a very reasonable amount given the age and mileage of the car. That has been the only claim I have had to file, but I have no doubt should I be in another accident, State Farm will be there to assist me in any way I need, and I will continue to do business with them because of that reason.
While I do have an account with Navy Federal Credit Union, I maintain an account with Family Savings Credit Union because they have 2 locations in my town, and they too have top-notch customer service. The tellers are always extremely friendly and remember me by name when I enter the bank. On the few occasions I have needed to speak with the bank manager, or a loan officer, I was able to do so quickly and they too were extremely friendly and helpful. They offer great rates and a number of different account types with incentives for enrollment. I also like that I can use almost any credit union's ATM with no fees. This is a big thing for me because I use ATMs quite a bit, and as long as there is a credit union nearby it doesn't cost me a thing. I highly recommend anyone considering Family Savings Credit Union to visit a branch and speak with a representative. I'm sure they would be amazed at the level of service, just as I am.
I was a customer of Wachovia before they merged with Wells Fargo. Once the merger occurred, I noticed a steep decline in services, and a sharp increase in fees. My minimal balance to maintain a free checking account was increased, the fee for not maintaining said balance was increased, as well as fees associated with my debit card. When I spoke with the customer service representative about it, their attitude seemed to convey that they could care less whether or not they retained me as a customer. This spoke volumes to me. In addition to that, if I wrote a check to a friend, Wells Fargo charged $5 to cash it, and then has the nerve to ask that person to become a customer of Wells Fargo. This attitude has seeped into every corner of the banking industry and is why I am currently with a Credit Union, and I am very glad I ceased doing business with Wells Fargo.
I have been a customer of Allstate for the past 10 years, using them for automotive coverage primarily. From the very minute I walked into an Allstate office, I was treated as a valued customer. The local agent strove to make sure I understood all aspects of my policy as well as my coverage needs. They are very competitive as far as pricing with other insurance companies is concerned, but I have no problem paying a little more for the comfort that is provided by being an Allstate client. I have had to file only 1 claim since I’ve become a customer. It was for windshield repair. Within 48 hours of filing my claim, my windshield was repaired and the claim was closed. Efficient service like that is one reason I will remain an Allstate customer.
Navy Federal has been my credit union for nearly two years. Thankfully I have a family member who served and banks there, enabling me to have an account with them. Service is top-notch with Navy Federal. I am not charged with ATM withdrawal fees, no minimum balance requirements, online banking, and the list goes on and on. Another aspect of the credit union which I love is the ability to call and get pre-approval for an automobile loan, then go by the bank and pick up a blank check (within the limit set by the loan terms) and go purchase a car. This has helped me get a better deal on automobile purchases because I go in saying I have financing available. The only negative for me is my proximity to a branch. I live approximately 40 miles from my nearest branch, but with direct-deposit and online banking this rarely becomes an issue.
The Robbins Insurance Agency has provided home owner's insurance for me as well as various members of my extended family for many years. They work hard to provide me with the best rate. Anytime I have concerns about things for my home I think I may need to add to my insurance, they guide me through the process and help determine if I need the additional coverage, as well as how much coverage I should add. When I bought my fiancee an engagement ring, I called to see if I could add a rider to my policy to insure the ring. I feel as if I am a valued customer at Wirtz Insurance and they will continue to retain my business as long as this is the case. I may expand the amount of business I do with them in the near future as I am looking to start my own business.
