I just applied and was accepted for the Slate card about 2 weeks ago. I found it appealing because of the free balance transfer with 15 month interest free payments. I had another card that I had a good amount of debt on and I wanted to transfer it to this card so that I could save on interest. I am happy with this feature. The card is also good in other ways. It has a lower interest rate than my Wells Fargo card. And it also has 0% APR on purchases for the first 15 mnths. I am happy with this card.
Great card! Been with Cap One now for over 10 years. Never any issues. I have mostly reward cards since you can get something back. And you can do well with this type of card. Had a couple of charges I did not make & they took them off immediately.
I have been using GMAC car insurance for 2 full years now. I have always been happy with the service provided. It has been the cheapest rate I have ever got in my 6 years of driving. You can pay yearly and save some money which is nice. Or you can pay as you go (at least once per month). I haven't had to use my liability during this time, because I have not caused an accident, so I cannot give insight to that process. Just make sure that you pay your bill on time or you will be faced with a 10$ fee.
I used PNC checking account for a few years. I closed it a couple years ago when I moved, to change to a local bank. However, PNC was a good bank to use. It was simple to understand their policies and they were fair. I was a student so I had a better interest rate, which was nice. The staff was always helpful with me and polite. I never had any problems that I had to call customer service about. I would recommend this bank.
I have had Bank Of America for about 2 years now. I signed up because it was a bank that was local to my area. When I went in to sign up the application process was pretty simple. The staff was nice and helpful to me. I got a student account with them because I was in school at the time. This offered a few added benefits. The bank offers reasonable hours and the ATM is always available outside the bank. I would recommend this bank to those in the area.
I have been using Mercury Insurance for about a year now. It has been the cheapest insurance I have had yet. The signup was easy, I did it all online. I have mine set up for auto withdrawal so I never even really have to think about paying it. I got it as part as an LA Kings promo so I also got free stuff for signing up which was awesome! I Plan on having Mercury for a long time!
I used Valley First Credit Union because it was a local Union in Modesto, CA where I live. The application process was simple and the staff was polite and helpful with me the entire time. I haven't had any real problems since I have been a member of this credit union, so I haven't had a need to use their customer service. Their hours are very reasonable and there are multiple branches to go to, so they are usually always pretty close. I would recommend Valley First to pretty much anyone!
I used San Diego County Credit Union when I bought my first car. They were very helpful with me. Being a college student, they gave me a better interest rate than I would have got otherwise, which was very helpful. I did not have any problems going through the process. It was simple and the staff was polite and helpful with me. I never really had to contact them much after the initial set up, as I had no real problems. I would recommend!
I have used Bank of the West for the past couple years because it is the only bank that is currently active in my town. I live in a small town so the bank is never really that busy, which is a plus. They have a 24/7 ATM outside of it as well which comes in handy. I like it more than other ATMs because you can get bills as small as $5. I have never had a problem banking at this bank. The staff is always polite and helpful and signing up with this bank was very simple. I would recommend this bank to anyone!
If you are going to stay at Best Western a few times a year then choosing to apply for this card will prove beneficial for you. The sign up process is simple and you get 10,000 points on your first night's stay. Most hotels offer a room for 8,000 points, so at this point you will already have a free night credit. After this you will receive 15 points for every dollar that you spend. From what I have found out, you will get a free night about every 6 or 7 stays at a Best Western when using this card.
The Capital One® Cash Rewards for Newcomers was the first card that I got when I turned 18. I have used it ever since, however not so recently. It is a good card to start with. It is your basic type of credit card. The rewards are OK, not the best I have experienced. The rates and fees are pretty much average, maybe a little higher than average. Late fees can pile on if you are not on time with it, so be careful with that. But all in all I would recommend someone just starting out building credit to get this card and use it.
I got the Guitar Center gift card in 2008 when I bought an acoustic guitar. It has been the only thing that I have purchased with the card but it was a great deal. I had 6 months of no interest. I think that my limit was around 800 bucks. I only spent 350 however. I paid the card off on time and have not had any problems with the service. The only thing that was negative about my experience was that they never mailed me a real card. I still have the temp card that they give you in the store. I don't know what happened there. But it is a great deal, and I would recommend it.
When I started college I signed up for the Discover Student More Card. It was recommended to me because of its great advantages from being a student. I have had a great experience with it in the past couple years. It has been an easy way to build my credit up. It has a pretty low interest rate, which helps a lot. Also, it has a great cash back policy. I have always paid it on time so that has not been an issue with this card. I would recommend this card to students that are looking to start building their credit.
I have had the Amazon.com Credit Card for a few months now and I love it. The initial $30 gift card that comes with it was GREAT. It has a great no interest policy and I have already taken advantage of that. The rewards system is one of the best I have used before. You recieve one point for every dollar you spend, however if you are paying for gas then you receive double this amount. Also every dollar that you spend on Amazon you get 3 points for. If you use the card at restaurants you get 2 points per dollar. These points add up pretty quickly. For every 100 points you get a dollar back. I will continue using this card as my main card for awhile. I recommend it to anyone that uses Amazon frequently.
I signed up with Wells Fargo bank during the summer between high school and college. I was 18 at the time. They offered me this credit card because I was going to College. It has lower rates than the normal card. I started off with an 800 dollar credit limit. It has rose every year, I am now at a 3600 dollar credit limit. A negative about this card is that if you are late on your payment by even a couple days they tack on a 35 dollar late charge. Also, they will call you multiple times a day with their automated messaging system telling you to pay. It is rather annoying.
