I have contacted Hilda's office many many times in the 6 months I have had insurance with her and State Farm. My means of communication with them are calling on the phone and e-mailing. Both ways have given me answers to questions or problems within an hour. I have car insurance and renter's insurance with her. I just bought a new car and was waiting for the insurance to go through so I could drive it off the lot. All of the paperwork got through late in the day - around 4PM - my insurance agent stayed late at work to fax over the materials! I was able to drive my new car that night. I've never had an insurance company - or broker - actually take the time to make sure I had absolutely no questions. They even call before they mail something out to let me know what's coming in the mail and what it means.
I was offered this checking account when my husband and I went into Wells Fargo to open an account. WalletHub states that there is a 10.00 fee for having this account, but I do not believe that is true. This account is free as long as you either have direct deposit going into it and if you have a transfer to a savings account at least once a month. I have not had any issues with account and use it multiple times a day! It's great and you can control it from the mobile app as well. I would highly recommend this to a friend!!
I have the Way2Save Savings account from Wells Fargo. It is a convenient account, because it is free under a few conditions. if you have a job that has direct deposit, there is no annual charge for the account. Also, one per month if you make an automatic transfer from checking to savings it's free as well. i love the automatic transfer because it's a way to save money without even thinking about it. I would recommend this account to a friend who was just starting to save money or wanted something the basic. The interest is pretty low, so you won't be making much extra.
I have Allstate for my renter's insurance. I've never had any issues with the company and they have provided me with good insurance. The premium isn't terribly expensive, but I have found that Allstate tends to be more expensive than most insurance companies. My insurance broker is so nice and answers e-mails within a few hours of sending them. She has been so helpful and did try to get us the best deal possible. I would recommend their insurance policies even though they are a bit pricier than the ones offered by other companies. You are also getting really good customer service though. It tends to balance out in the end.
I got a Macy's card when I was 18 years old. Of course not the brightest move but it did save me money on what I was buying. When you sign up for the card you are able to get 20% off of your purchase which is good if you have a large order! Unfortunately the interest is very high like most other store credit cards. If you are able to pay it off quickly then this card is definitely worth it. There are also many incentives for card holders. Many sales and discounts just for card holders. I would recommend this card if you do a lot of shopping and also if you are able to pay off your bill quickly!
I have banked at CommunityWide Federal Credit Union in the past. The employees are not very friendly and don't seem to be very happy at their job, unlike other credit unions I have been to. They are behind bullet proof glass at all times even though they are not in a very dangerous location. I find that they “cater” to lower-income families, which is fine if that is what you are. I found their services and offerings pretty generic and nothing really stood out at all. They are in a convenient location for me so that was a plus. If you are looking for a very simple account, just a checking or savings, then this may be the place for you. Especially if you do not like to go into the branch very often.
I have been a customer with State Farm Insurance for a few months now. I recently switched from Allstate. I was given an amazing deal for car insurance. They cut my car insurance bill by 60%. It's great. I just called my local office and told them I wanted to see how much insurance would be through them. The insurance agent was super friendly and the entire “application” process took about 10 minutes. They also have a Safe Driver program which also saves me money each month. All you have to do is watch a 10 minute video online and send in a form saying you watched it. I think State Farm is a great choice for insurance and have had no issues so far. There are also a lot of branches in my town so it's nice not to have to rely on a huge company with an international call center. I would highly recommend State Farm!
My fiance and I have been members of NDFCU for many years. They are a great credit union. One of the best things about the credit union is that they give younger people chances to earn credit and start savings or checking accounts. Most places make you have 200.00 minimum for savings account but not NDFCU. You can get a student savings and checking account which is really nice. They also help younger people earn credit responsibly, as well. You can get a starter credit card that is linked to your savings account so that you cannot charge too much and your payments will always be made. I think it's great to get younger generations started early with smart credit choices. NDFCU's staff is always friendly and helpful, I've never had any issues with them before. I would highly recommend this credit union!
I've been a member of Inova Federal Credit Union for over 10 years. They are a small credit union that have quite a few branches in Northern Indiana. Their customer service representatives are always friendly and energetic and know exactly what to do when it comes to the simple, everyday transactions. We once had an issue with an IRA and the main manager was not very sure how to address the problem or how to fix it. She had to call a regional office manager which took a lot of time. Other than that one issue I've never had a problem with Inova. They are very adamant about what accounts will give you the best interest rate and what the new specials are. I would recommend this credit union if you live in the midwest.
I have an Express Store credit card. If I was asked a few months ago my feelings about it, I would say that it's a nice store card to have if you're a regular customer. They had great rewards for not even having to spend a lot of money. Unfortunately, Express just completely revamped their Store Credit card. Now, it's more of a "points" card, and to actually get enough points for a reward you have to spend ridiculous amounts of money at their store. There are no more 10.00 rewards bonuses or anything. I think with this new card, and with the already high interest rates it's not worth it unless you're spending 300.00+ dollars a month at their store. Hopefully the new system won't catch on and they will revert back to their old rewards Credit Card. I love shopping at Express that is why I originally got the card. If you're a huge Express fan and spend a lot of money at the store, then I can see it being a good fit for you!
I've had a Gap card for about 5 years and I've ha no problems with it. It's great that I earn reward points every time I shop. I receive 10.00 rewards coupons for every 200 points, I believe. It's great that if you're going to be shopping anyway might as well earn gift certificates! It's really convenient that you can use this card not only at Gap, but Old Navy, Banana Republic, and also online at their other retailing stores. It makes it really easy when you want to earn rewards. Also, there are special promotions for card holders. On Tuesdays, if you use your Gap card you get an extra 10% off purchases! Similar to all store credit cards, interest rates are pretty high. Definitely above 20% interest rates. It's best if you use this card in moderation or pay your bill off at the end of the month! I would recommend this card!
I applied for a Best Buy card when I needed to get a new laptop for college 5 years ago. I've had the card ever since, and I still use it when I shop at Best Buy. The starting credit lines are very low for an electronic store. The nice the thing about the card is that they run a lot of promotions of no interest for so many months when you buy a product. This is really nice when you absolutely need to get something on the credit card. Just like any store card though, comes very high interest rates. If you happen to not get a promotion or take too long to pay off the card you're looking at over 20% interest rates. This makes a small balance take a very long time to pay off. I would say if you need the card, to get it, but make sure you pay it off ASAP!
I've had a JcPenney credit card ever since I was 18 years old and started working there. Honestly, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages nowadays. The interest rates are sky high (around 25%). It's absolutely crazy. There used to be a lot of special coupons and sales for card holders but with the new CEO took over all of those things have been done away with. I think if there was an incentive to have the card now I would say "Yes, get it but pay it off every month" but now I can just say "Please don't get it. It's not worth it!"
I've had this card for a little over 2 years now. I've had absolutely no problems with it and find that it's a good credit card to have. I was transferred my balance from my old credit card (for free) so I would have all of my accounts at one bank. This card doesn't have a crazy interest rate and there are frequent promotions such as no interest for 12 months for certain purchases. I think this is a good credit card to have as a "main" card. One of the good things about the card is that you can go to Chase and make a payment the day it's due and it's automatically applied. You don't have to wait a few days. This is good if you're having a tough month or the bill kind of slipped your mind! I would recommend this card and give it a 4/5 stars!
I’ve had this card since I was 18 and have had nothing but good experiences with it. I like that the limit isn’t very high so you aren’t worried about spending too much. I also love the cash back rewards! Every few months there are a certain types of stores where you receive 5% cash back instead of just the usual 1%! It’s a great incentive to use the card and to also get it paid off quickly. It’s also fun that you can customize the card to have any picture you want on it. It’s a cute added bonus. Overall, I would highly recommend the Student Discover to someone who wants to start earning credit without the fear of racking up high amounts of debt and interest!
