I'm close to switching from my Wells Fargo Visa credit card over to the Blue Sky card from American Express. Both are similar in rates, but the rewards with the Blue Sky card slightly outweigh those currently offered from Wells Fargo. But I'm not just looking at it from a rewards standpoint; I plan on taking advantage of their 0% for 15 months on transfers. This right here pretty much seals the deal for me!
I switched from the Marriott Rewards card to this Hilton credit card for two reasons: the annual fee and I simply found myself staying in more Hilton affiliated hotels. Marriott Rewards gave me a little more initial sign-up points, but after that first year it felt like I was breaking even having to pay the annual fee. With the Hilton credit card, I'm guaranteed at least one free stay with my family a year, which helps a lot.
I bank at Wells Fargo, and when I went in about a year ago to talk about mortgages, they talked me into getting the Wells Fargo Platinum Card. They started me off with 2500 points, which was nice. I like best the easy integration with my other Wells Fargo accounts. Very helpful web interface for exploring your activity of your card.
I love to break out my L. L. Bean credit card around the Christmas time every year. I've had the card for about 5 or 6 years now, and they will always run a special for current card members around the holiday. They have a nice rewards structure in place, unlike some other clothing outfitters, so your money goes farther with L. L. Bean.
I recently started thinking about getting a new electric guitar, which led me to this Guitar Center Store credit card. It has some positive attributes going for it, like no annual fees and a decent grace period. The one thing I'm not crazy about is the short intro period for the 0% interest rate. My recently acquired Home Depot Store credit card gave me 0% interest for 24 months, so I was able to make the larger purchase that I needed. This 6 month period with the Guitar Center Store credit card will definitely play a factor on what model I get.
On a recent trip to New York City, I decided to rent a car as I did not want to put all of the extra miles on one of my vehicles. However, my current car insurance would not follow me to the rental (longer story). In order to cover myself with NYC traffic (not to mention the bad weather getting up there recently), I decided to look into Travelers Insurance for some protection. Boy, was I happy that I did! They were recommended to me by the rental agency (let's just say they start with an “H”). I was sort of in a hurry to get these last minute decisions wrapped up, and the good people over at Bill Williams Agency were great at getting me taken care of, even around the holidays! Even though my trip up to the Big Apple was without incident, having Travelers Insurance behind me the whole way really made the trip that much more enjoyable.
When it was the right time for my wife and me to purchase our first house, I was very grateful for the years I've had with my Virginia Credit Union account rep. The customer service on the phone was alright, but I would really recommend going into the local branch, especially the 720 East Broad St location. They helped walk us through the best options we needed when we were ready to take on our first mortgage. Because these guys have such a strong tie to the local community, they were especially helpful at pointing us in the direction of the neighborhoods that were best suited for our budget. Saved us a lot of time and a false home. Thanks guys!
The wife and I recently had the pleasure of purchasing our first house in Chesterfield VA. The experience we had going through the bank was nice, but when it came to Home Insurance, we wanted to work with a different company. We ended up choosing Gary Robert Lunsford at AllState (Chester location). Gary was very friendly with us and helped walk us through the requirements we needed with our first time home insurance application. My only negative comment would be that the process itself is a little unclear when this is something you're doing for the first time, but this wasn't Gary's fault. Keeping in mind that I've yet had to file anything against the insurance, the application process Gary provided for Allstate was very nice. Would definitely recommend his services to anyone in the Chester area.
I've been with Wells Fargo bank for about 2 years since they took over Wachovia. At first, I was skeptical about what this transition would mean for me. However, I am happy to report that I have no complaints about doing business now with Wells Fargo. The biggest "success story" I can say about this company is this: when I go (in the near future) to purchase my first house, they are going to help me cover a lot of the closing costs! How many big banks would do that in today's times? On top of everything else, their customer service at my local branch has also always been outstanding since they came to town. Well done, Wells Fargo, well done!
I've had Elephant Auto for 2 years now. One of the best & simple features is the website: how easy it is to get a quote and pay my monthly bill. But the real “meat” of this company is the customer service. About 6 months ago my car got hit by another driver, and my car was a total loss. Even though it wasn't my fault, Elephant Auto worked with me to help me get the most out of my claim through the other company! They were very understanding and friendly to me, which made the entire process that much better! I definitely plan to stay with this company.
