No credit card needed
I used State Farm for many years when I drove my first car. I was attracted to them at first because the rates they offered me were by far the best in my area. They also did not seem to penalize me too much for being a young driver. They did a pretty good job at first but the cracks quickly started to show. State Farm’s customer service is terrible. I could not get a straight answer from anyone when I had questions about a rate increase. They just expected me to accept it with no questions asked. That is why I am no longer with State Farm.
I had a credit card with America’s Credit Union for many years. I really like how easy it was to apply for the card. The interest rate on the credit card was very low. The best part about America’s Credit Union is the customer service. I was very nervous about being a part of a mostly online credit union. They really helped with my fears. The people who work at America’s Credit Union are top notch. I would recommend getting a credit card with credit Union. You will have a hard time finding a better one.
I used America’s Christian Credit Union for several years when I lived in California. I really enjoyed being a part of this credit union. Their customer service was really great. I had several identity theft problems while I was in California and America’s Christian Credit Union really backed me up and helped me set everything right. The customer service representatives really treated me with respect and were very knowledgeable. Another thing I really like about this credit union is that they always sent out my replacement checks very quickly. I never had to wait very long and ordering them was a very easy process.
I applied online for an account at Alliant Credit Union a few years ago. The application process could not have been easier. I had a few questions about the application so I called and my questions were quickly answered. I really liked this credit union. They always seemed to keep an eye on my account and spent a lot of time making sure that no one was fraudulently charging things. I was skeptical when I signed up but Alliant Credit Union really took care of me. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a good credit union.
My grandfather retired from the Air Force many years ago. When I was born he got me set up with a savings account at Air Force Federal Credit Union. Every time he would get paid he put a little in the account for me to have when I turned 18. Once I turned 18 he turned the account over to me to do with as I please. The people at Air Force Federal Credit Union could not have been more helpful when I got my account. They really helped me find ways to reinvest my money and my account was very easy to access. I highly recommend this credit union.
When I got my first job I decided it would be wise to have a bank to put my money in. The bank I decided to use was SunTrust. I really liked using SunTrust. It was my first bank and they really made me feel welcome. The rates on their savings accounts were really great and the minimum I had to keep in my checking account was really low. I eventually moved to a state that did not have a SunTrust and I had to close my account. When I withdrew my money somehow I ended up in the negative. SunTrust ended up forgiving it and not making me pay.
I used Agriculture Federal Credit Union for about a month before I got fed up and closed the account. I took out a personal loan from Agriculture Federal Credit Union to help finance a recording project of mine. They offered me a great rate and really seemed interested in making the loan work for me. At the time I was very happy. The problems crept in when I had to start making payments. Several times they lost my payment. When I would call and ask why my payment had not posted they would say I didn’t make one. The money would eventually show up in my account again and I would be charged a late payment fee. I would not recommend this credit union.
Affinity Plus is a credit union that is open to anyone. The great thing about this credit union is that you can apply online. I found the application process to be painless. The online application was easy to fill out and was quickly accepted. The problem is that this credit union is just not very good. I had numerous problems with my credit card when I first joined. Several times I was charged late fees when my payments were not late. They always made it right but it was a real pain in the neck. I cannot recommend this credit union.
I had Liberty Mutual for many years. I had car insurance through them. The people who worked there were very helpful. When I signed up I had a lot of questions about my policy and they always had the answers. I was only in a few small fender benders while on Liberty Mutual. They handled my claims in a very prompt manner. I also liked that my case managers always implied that the accident was not my fault. I have had car insurance in the past where the case manager treated me like I was a negligent criminal even though the accident was not my fault. I really recommend Liberty Mutual!
I used Main Street Credit Union for almost three years. They really provided top notch service. I had some problems at first getting my bank statements in the mail but it was quickly taken care of. Main Street Credit Union offered me a really competitive credit rate and I could not beat their savings account rate at the time. I really cannot say enough nice things about this credit union. Another problem I had was receiving replacement checks in a timely manner. I just adjusted when I ordered my checks to solve the problem. I would recommend Main Street Credit Union to anyone.
I used Apple Bank for a short time in between credit unions. I was looking for a bank that offered a no frills credit account. I also wanted a bank that would not try and take advantage of me with fees. Apple Bank is a pretty decent bank. I had a really easy time signing up and the people who worked there were very helpful. They made sure I knew about all the fees they charged. One of the reasons I did not stick with them was that they never seemed to be able to help me in a timely manner. I was always waiting for them to call me back. They also had a hard time being consistent with their answers to my questions.
Northland Area Federal Credit Union is a fantastic credit union. They showed up at a time in my life when I was really searching for a bank that cared about me. They worked very hard to make sure I got the most out of my membership. I cannot say enough nice things about their customer service. They really gave me good advice and helped me with financial decisions. The staff there was very knowledgeable and friendly. I really liked using my checking account there. I felt very confident that they had my best interests in mind when they made suggestions. Some banks make you feel like they are just trying to get every dime out of you. Northland Area Federal Credit Union did not make me feel that way at all.
I used this bank for a number of years when I started out with banking. I must say after having experienced many banks this one is one of the worst. The customer service is really subpar. On several occasions I had to look up answers to my banking questions online because the person I was talking to on the phone did not know the answer. These were pretty basic questions and they did not even know how to look them up. I expect a little more from my bank than that. I would never recommend this bank based on that experience alone.
I inherited a membership with this credit union from my dad. I was pretty young when I first started using it so I did not take full advantage of their services but I can say that this credit union is pretty great. They really took the time to introduce me to banking and the people were very helpful. The fact that the offered me overdraft protection was great too. Since I didn’t have any money I was always overdrawing. I really liked this bank and it’s a shame I closed the account. I really don’t know what I was thinking.
I used Victoria for a little bit while I lived in Arizona. When I first approached them it seemed kind of shady and I did not know if I was being scammed or what. After talking to them it seemed legit so I signed up. The rates were pretty good but they were absolutely useless when I got in an accident. The other person’s insurance company said that they could not even get in contact with Victoria. I ended up having to call them and force them to make contact. I would not recommend this insurance company to anyone who actually needs insurance.
I had a savings account with Sandy Spring Bank for about two weeks. Without warning me they closed my bank account for having insufficient funds. When I opened the account no one told me about any minimum I had to keep in the account. I actually asked before I opened the account and was told there was not one. When I asked them about this they did not have an answer for me. I would not use this bank. They were very rude and I would never trust them with my money again. If they had not closed my account I would have.
The one thing I will give Geico is that they do give you a car insurance quote very quickly. They say it takes about 15 minutes to get a quote but mine took even less time. I was very pleased with the time it took. The person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful. They had answers for all of my questions. The reason I am no longer with Geico is because their rates stink. My car insurance rate was way too high with them. That is why I went with other insurance. I would recommend Geico if you can get a good rate.
The N.W. Iowa Credit Union is not the best. When I signed up with them they really came across as amateurs. I don’t know if it was someone new answering the phone or what but they didn’t even know what APR stood for. They gave me a pretty decent rate on my credit card. It was at least five years ago though, so I don’t know what it is like now. I will say that the person on the phone was very friendly even if they did not know what they were talking about. I would sign up with them again if I had the chance.
I recently joined USAA and was given the option to use their bank. I really like the idea of having all my bills and money in one place so I decided to try it out. The people who helped me on the phone were very helpful and they spent a lot of time explaining anything I had a question about. Even if I had a basic banking question they answered it with care. They really treated me like I was important. The checking account I set up is very good. They have great protection for unauthorized charges. The checks they sent me are also really cool.
I recently switched my car insurance to USAA and I could not be happier. My insurance rate dropped dramatically when I joined. The people on the phone were very helpful and nice. I was able to use the same agent through several calls and it really felt like they cared. I opened up other policies and a credit card and it made my rates drop even further. Their website is very easy to use and you can pay your bills on it. Over all I am extremely happy with USAA and would recommend them to anyone who needs car insurance.
In 2008 I was new to the area and needed to get some money together for some ventures. Unfortunately for me I was able to join NIH credit Union. I was very happy to be qualified and really thought they were the answer to my problems. I applied for the loan and the process could not have been worse. The people who worked there were uninformed and not helpful at all. At one point when I asked a question I was actually told to look it up myself. The loan rate they ended up offering me was a complete joke.
I have lived in Northern Virginia for many years now. One of the highlights of moving here was discovering BB&T. I cannot say enough good things about this bank. The people who work at BB&T are fantastic. They really know how to give a person the felling that they matter. My savings are primarily at BB&T and I could not feel safer about that. I really trust them with my money. I applied at BB&T for a loan a while back and that was a good experience as well. The rate was a little high so I didn’t take it but the people who worked there were very friendly and informative.
Due to the big storm the east coast suffered this year, my house was damaged. The roof was messed up a little bit and there was some water damage in the basement. I was so happy my family and I had Liberty Mutual home insurance. They were very helpful in making sure we got our house fixed and keeping us in the loop about the cost to us. I find Liberty Mutual to be very affordable for the service they offer. I never cringe when I see their bill in my mail like I do for some places. The reps I spoke to on the phone were very knowledgeable and nice.
My wife is from Ohio and when I married her I was able to join the Credit Union of Ohio. They seem to really have a handle on things. The people who work there are extremely helpful and will answer any questions you might have. They did not get me any attitude when I asked basic banking questions. When we approached them about a car loan they were very helpful and honest. The person who worked with us even gave us a heads up that we might get a better rate somewhere else. I couldn’t believe their honesty. It was a very good banking experience.
I lived in Arizona for a few years many years ago. While I lived there I worked for the state doing some computer database. One of the “perks” of the job was I was able to open an account with Arizona State Credit Union. I was told it was one of the best credit unions in the country and things of this nature. Everything went really smooth. My checks were directly deposited and they always showed up in a timely manner. The staff was very helpful if I had any questions too. The problem came when I applied or a loan. I was interested in investing in some property at the time and needed to get a home loan. When I went to Arizona State Credit Union to apply for one I was treated very poorly. I don’t know if it was just that teller or what but they acted like I was evil for inquiring about money. When I told them I wasn’t sure if I was for sure buying the house or not they seemed to lose what little motivation they had. When I got the loan the interest rate was outrageous. I didn’t take out the loan. I moved soon afterward and was happy to close my account with them.
While I was going to school in Richmond I had the chance to join Virginia Credit Union Inc. I found them to be an ok credit union. The customer service I received was not very good. One time my wallet was stolen and someone charged a lot of money to my card. Virginia Credit Union made it pretty difficult for me to get my money back and the representatives I talked to seem acted like I was lying. If I was looking for a credit union I would probably consider a different one based on my experience with this one.
I have been using Allstate for several years now and could not be happier with them. Last year I was involved in my first accident ever and it was pretty terrifying. My car was ok but I didn't know what the accident was going to cost me or what I needed to do. I called my Allstate agent while I was at the side of the road and they walked me through the process. After I exchanged information with the other driver Allstate made sure I was informed about the rest of the steps in the process and helped me learn how car insurance works. Their rates are very affordable for the amazing service that they offer. I love Allstate.
I have been a member at Navy Federal Credit Union for almost ten years now. When I needed to get a new car after an accident they were the first place I turned for my car loan. They were very helpful and extremely nice. They really took the time to explain to me how the loan worked and what my obligations where. It also didn’t hurt that they gave me a fantastic interest rate. Anytime I had a question I could call my banker and they were always ready and waiting to help me figure out what the answers where. I love Navy Federal Credit Union.
