We use GeoVista Federal Credit Union because my husband is in the military and we move around a lot. Our main credit union is back in our home state but GeoVista makes it very easy to connect the two credit unions together. The service is always fast, efficient and very friendly. We mostly use them to deposit and withdraw from our checking and they make that easy with very accessible ATM’s around town and the surrounding areas as well. What is also great about GeoVista is that we have family that comes and visits us from time to time and the credit union they use is not in the state we live in. GeoVista is a credit affiliated credit union and they can use them without having a checking account to access their checking account to withdraw money from as well with no fees involved.
Having had a very bad experience with Bank of America through their credit card department, I was not very happy when I found out that my mortgage had been bought by them. Number one, I was very hesitant to set up payments with them and, number two, we had not had very good experiences talking to customer service before. When I called to set up out automatic payments, the agent on the other line was very nice and knowledgeable. The agent assured me that they would draft the payments on the day I set up and if it was different to just call them. The process to set up automatic payments was not hard but a little time consuming. I have had to call into the mortgages department several times in the three years they have been servicing our loan and each time I have been impressed with the service I got. The mortgage department has definitely saved their reputation with me.
I had called around to many insurance companies looking for a new company to go with. The reason was that the insurance company we had had for 7 years upped a payment we gave out to fix a car over $500, so our insurance policy would go up, or so it seemed. When we called Farmers we got a welcoming “hello” from the agent on the other end of the line and when we explained our situation they went straight to work in order to get us rates and the lady said she would call us back soon. The agent called us back that day and had even gotten us a rate that didn't include the problem that we had with the other company. When she gave us the rate we were very pleased and switched right away. We have now been with Farmers for over a year and have never had any problems. They have always been very helpful.
I have been with Mountain America Credit Union for more than 10 years. I have always been impressed by their customer service and easy application processes, but one incident made me like them even more. I was out of town on vacation when my car was broken into and all my items were stolen from it including my bank cards and check book. This happened on a Saturday night and by the time I called to cancel my cards the people who took them had already spent over 200 dollars from my account. The customer service agent told me that all would be ok and to go to my local branch as soon as I got home. I did so and the agent at my branch was very nice and helpful. They refunded all the money that was spent back into my account and changed my account number so the cards and checks could not be used again. They even put an alert on my account for the checks that were still out there. I will always stay with Mountain America Credit Union because of their great customer service and willingness to help.
