Barbara Carr is a good woman. She has always been honest with me about the my mortgage. When me and my wife first met Barbara Carr we knew she could be trusted. She was extremely friendly and understanding. She did't push anything on us and always respected our needs and desires. Our mortgage has been a great success because of our hard work, but also because of Barbara. She has handled the few incidents we have had in stride and with great class. It is crazy to me that I have known Barbara for 5 years! She is almost like a true friend to me now. Barbara is very friendly and reachable. Even if you aren't 100% serious about your plans yet, give her a call. She loves to talk and is passionate about her industry.
I see MPO Federal Credit Union as a all around, reliable credit union. Stationed in my hometown of Middletown New York, MPO is one of the most reputable businesses in the area. I've had a checking account with them that I used primarily as savings. They never gave me any hassles, and my savings account there has been productive. The local branch is very nice and has great customer service. I am considering doing more with MPO in the future. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a stable bank. For consumers in the Middletown area, I don't see a better option for their local banking needs!
I recently switched to AAA Insurance about 6 months ago for my car. I got a new car and I wanted to step up my insurance as well since I was having issues with my previous two providers. People kept telling me to go for AAA because it was a no hassle company. I had a hard time believing car insurance could be no hassle in the state of New York! I was wrong though. AAA has never lead me astray. They saved me 200 dollars every 6 months from what I was paying previously. This immediately boded well, but I wanted to see what would happen from there. I finally ended up needing to call customer service for a billing error. Customer service had been a thorn in my side with my last car insurance provider, but with AAA the problem was actually resolved. I think I'll be sticking by AAA in the future if they continue to provide a low rate, because honestly they are the most professional car insurance company I know of.
Overall, I am a fan of my Erie insurance because I feel that the pros outweigh the cons, even if there are clear cons. The biggest con for me was getting approved for a decent rate with Erie. Since I had gotten into a car accident with my last insurance company and received a speeding ticket, and I was 21 and a male, my rate was going to by sky high at first. Frankly, I wasn't going to have it. Luckily Erie was willing to work with me after a week or so of complaints and we agreed on a rate. Since then Erie has been perfect for the most part. The only other complaint I have is that problem resolution can be a bit iffy if you get the wrong person on the phone. When it comes to the insurance itself though I have had little to no problems for the past year or so with Erie.
I loved State Farm once I got into a groove with them. At first, I had some issues getting the insurance. A friend had strongly recommended State Farm, so I stuck with them even though the application process was iffy. My new car was unregistered for a month due to this. Apparently, my local State Farm screened certain young drivers, or just didn't want to accept them at all. Once I was officially a customer of State Farm, however, everything has gone well. My yearly rate is manageable, and I doubt I could get a much lower rate anywhere else. I haven't experienced any hidden fees or strange mishaps with customer service. My local branch has first rate and friendly employees. I recommend State Farm to anyone.
Positives: Fast and fair application process. Variety of medias. Good banking and rates. Negatives: Iffy customer service and problem resolution. Once I dealt with a shady website and some of my information was stolen. Getting in contact with customer service at American Express was a hassle. At the time, I had no online banking. Therefore, I needed to call and get information on my account and get it locked down. However, it took over 2 hours to get the situation handled. In this time, 500$ was stolen from my account. I also had a few minor customer service problems. I cannot say for sure that American Express in general has horrible customer service, but my experiences were poor.
