When purchasing my first new car (a Scion tC) I was forced to show proof of insurance. I went online to Geico’s website and signed up. I was presented with a monthly estimate of about $200. At the age that I purchased the insurance and car, I figured that was fair. I bought the insurance, bought the car, and was happy as a clam. A month later, I got a call from Geico. Apparently they had messed something up, and my insurance was actually $584 per month. A rather INSANE amount. I had absolutely no recourse, as I couldn’t drop them at that exact moment, and I had no other alternative insurance companies that would give me a good rate if I did. I worked 2 jobs to pay that damn insurance bill, and will NEVER go back to them.
I have been with State Farm for at least 5 years now. Every single time I have moved, or changed cars, they have been helpful. Their rates are the best around for my demographic, and the multi-line policy is fantastic! I have had the same agent for the entire duration of my stay with State Farm. I would highly recommend State Farm to anyone who needs a good insurance company. That being said, I have never had to file a claim with State Farm, so I cannot speak to the actual resolution process. If I ever have a problem with State Farm, I will gladly call an agent and he will more than likely be able to take care of any questions or concerns that I have.
