My family recently shifted to GHC-SCW from our previous plan which we had received from a State job. This was the first time we had to apply for a private pay health care…

I unfortunately have very little good to say about AnchorBank. I have had multiple negative experiences with them, both as a client, and as a representative for clients of my own. Anchor did very poorly during the economic crisis from 2008 to 2011. Given how they treat their clients, I'm not entirely surprised. The customer service at most bank locations I went to was basically atrocious. Having dealt with them on legal matters, their legal department was unresponsive and unhelpful. Finally, against my better judgment, I started to look into getting a home mortgage loan with Anchor. They ran my credit score without telling me or checking with me first, which shows up on my credit check and could potentially cause negative scoring, all of which happened without my consent. Meanwhile, while stockholders of Anchor lost everything as their stock value plummeted, the executives of the bank made millions. Utterly shameful. Do not let Anchorbank use you.
I used Progressive Insurance for 3 years prior to my switching to GEICO. I had had no problems whatsoever with Progressive until our rates were abruptly shifted without warning. We had no driver problems or claims of any kind. Thus, I was rather shocked when our rates doubled without warning. Further, the rate change took place after I had decided to renew our policies. I did not consent to renewing the policy with a spectacular jump in our rates. I was disappointed with the lack of answers I received for this change, and I felt that rate adjustments should have been disclosed prior to them going into effect. I cannot fault the company employees, but I felt berated and let down overall. I cannot recommend Progressive given their behavior in my case.
I chose Summit Credit Union over Heritage after spending a great deal of time deciding which company to use for my loan application for a new home. I was not particularly impressed with the customer service or the application process with Heritage, although that may have been due to the specific individual who I had helping me with that particular application. Simply put, the process stalled and communication didn't work out well, so I went with another option. In this day and age, you simply don't have time to waste on average to mediocre service. I may give them another shot in the future, but for now, I'd recommend another local credit union instead.
I formerly was a client of Heartland Credit Union and have recently gone back, as I have looked into opening accounts at multiple locations. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of the employees at Heartland. I have not had enough experience with them yet in order to form a full opinion, so I regrettably cannot fully back Heartland over other local credit unions. Should the experience I have had so far continue, I have no doubt that I will grow to trust Heartland Credit Union as much as any other long-standing business relationship that I have. I look forward to being a Heartland member for a long time to come!
We have had great experiences with GEICO. They are now our provider of both car and homeowner's insurance following our recent purchase of a new home. The application process was a snap, and GEICO contacted my lender to ensure compliance with insurance requirements well in advance of me having to do anything. GEICO is affiliated with Liberty Mutual for homeowner's insurance, but I always felt like I was being taken care of by the same people that have done such a great job with our vehicles. It felt like I was more than just a number or an account to these people, which is great feeling when you're tired of dealing with the house buying drama!
I have almost nothing negative to say about UW Credit Union. They are very convenient for any individual on campus, because they have locations seemingly everywhere and tons of no-fee ATMs for easy access to cash when you're about town. They're probably the best option for any student who needs an account while in college anywhere in Madison. That being said, some of the people at the UW Credit Union branches aren't the best. Because of the nature of being in a college town, I think they have a relatively high rate of turnover in their customer service staffers. I always felt like the person I was dealing with was very new, every single time I went to a credit union location. In conclusion, UW Credit Union is a great option for anyone going to UW-Madison. But beware that they are probably not going to be as professional as a bank or a credit union that is not so intertwined with the university culture.
I have utilized BMO Harris, under the former name of M & I Bank and Trust for many years for both business and personal needs. The individuals at the bank that is now known as BMO Harris have always been friendly and professional. They have served our needs in an effective and cordial manner, helping us navigate legal and privacy issues with a limited amount of stress. We have used BMO Harris in situations that can be incredibly stressful to a client. We have never had a communication problem with anyone at the bank, and we have always felt like special clients, even if we don’t command the big bucks that other accounts may demand. I’ve never felt like a little person at this bank, which is something I have felt at other banks in the past. I can honestly see no reason to go anywhere else if you choose a bank for your savings and checking needs.
My wife and I no longer use Am Fam insurance for our vehicle simply due to price. Our agent was clearly wonderful for us, handling any concern we had with speed and efficiency. For whatever reason, however, Am Fam ended up quoting us a much higher rate than the ones given by most other insurance companies. We only had to make a single claim during our time using Am Fam car insurance. In this instance, the car was damaged by a fallen tree branch in our parking lot. Our agent made the claims process easy and had us back on the road in a rental car within hours of the storm. That was an invaluable tool!
My family recently shifted to GHC-SCW from our previous plan which we had received from a state job. This was the first time we had to apply for a private pay health care plan, so the process was somewhat new to us. GHC was great through the application process. They kept me informed of everything that was going on, and they provided constant updates throughout the process. The application was relatively easy to understand, and any questions I had were answered promptly by GHC’s friendly staff. Unlike other private health insurance plans in the area, I never felt pressured into buying a product. They made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend them!
