I was with Progressive in the past and had renters insurance. Overall, it's an OK company. Customer service is pretty good and when you have a policy you can view, edit and make changes on their website relatively easy. Another plus is they have good claims handling, as they are usually pleasant to deal with. That's basically it. The one major drawback for me was that the cost for coverage is two to three times more than what I am paying for right now. I couldn't believe how much more they charge than competitors. Good company but way too pricey.
I have been with Chase for quite some time now and I absolutely love this bank. The products are good, their fees are relatively low, and they have a great website that is really user friendly and intuitive. In the past when I had problems with someone stealing my credit card information and making a bunch of purchases the problem was addressed immediately and the money was returned to my bank account right away. They even followed up the next few days to make sure everything was ok on my account. Another plus about this bank is that there are locations everywhere, so you will rarely be out of an option to make a transaction. I am very happy I decided to switch over to Chase.
I used Credit Union of Denver for a few years while I worked for a certain employer. Overall, I guess the experience was OK. For the time being that was the best option I had available to me, so if you are in a situation where you have to be with a credit union this is a good option. It has all the very basic features that you would need, with decent customer service. The reason why I gave it three stars is because it fills a void and serves a purpose, but it doesn't even come close to banking with a major branch regarding accessibility and availability when you need it most. Think of the credit union as a brief stop in your banking life.
I have been using State Farm for a while now and I don't have any complaints. Although I have never been in an accident, I have had some vandalism on my car with someone spray painting it and breaking the windows and when I called to see about coverage on this they acted very concerned and got the issue resolved very quickly. Another great service I have is roadside assistance, which has come in handy many times. Every time I run into a problem like a flat tire, or a dead battery or any roadside issue, they are polite, compassionate and get things taken care of extremely fast, and in no time a tow truck is there to assist me. I am very satisfied with their service and hope to continue doing business with them.
I have been banking with Wells Fargo since college, so I have a good grasp on how they operate as a company etc. I can honestly say that they are about average in all areas. Oftentimes you can go into a branch that has great customer service, but there are times when the service is well below average, especially when you are dealing with their male tellers. They don't seem as nice as the females. I once opened a business account prior to starting a business and it got cancelled within like a month because the person setting it up didn't disclose important info to me. Also one time I deposited money into a friend’s account and they were deposited into a wrong account, and I had to call and get it straightened out the next day. I will say that the resolution department handled it very well though. They got the issue taken care of to the best of their ability, so they get an A+ for that.
