While I (thankfully) have never had to make a claim against my State Farm policy, my husband did have to not too long ago. We actually have not only car insurance, but also home insurance on two dwellings with State Farm, and now that we’ve been through the claims process, I’m happy that we chose them. The reporting process was simple, everything went very smoothly, and although we didn’t have comprehensive coverage on my husband’s car (luckily it was just a fender bender), we haven’t heard anything untoward from the insurance company, nor have our rates seen a sudden spike. This is in contrast to experiences I have had with other companies, where as soon as you actually use the coverage you’ve paid them for, they either kick you off or double your premiums. Very happy!
Dawn was fantastic to work with! My mom and I were trying to qualify and close on a house in about 30 days, which is almost unheard of. It was also during a busy time of year. As anyone who has gone through the home buying process (at least, when using a mortgage) knows, there are a seemingly endless number of hoops to jump through. And having bought both before and after the institution of the Patriot Act, I can tell you the hoops have only gotten more common, and more annoying since then! Dawn helped us navigate all those hoops and be ready just in time for our closing. Needless to say, we were tickled pink with the speed with with Dawn was able to get us ready to close, as well as with the great rate she locked in for us!
My mother and I chose Troy out of the phone book before even moving to the area. Mom had been with State Farm for a while back in Florida, and I was persuaded to join her when I found out how much they could save me on car insurance! I have since moved all of my insurance to State Farm (except health). I've always been very pleased with the service I've received from Troy and his staff. He really takes the time to educate me about my options, and then gives me complete control to choose what I feel best suits my needs. If you live in the Johnson City/Gray area, I strongly urge you to give Troy a call. He's a great agent, and State Farm is the most reasonable insurance company I've found!
I have been a member of JCFCU ever since moving to Johnson City back in 2007. I was sick of big-bank policies and fees, and wanted to try something different, so I decided to go with JCFCU. They had the most branches around town, and were members of a big network of ATMs (PLUS), so I felt I'd have more than adequate access to my funds, no matter where I traveled. Thankfully I was right! I also got the extra added bonus of friendly customer service from folks who actually seemed to give a hoot about whether or not I brought them my business. Such a change from the huge corporate banks that seem more geared toward sucking you dry, and not giving an inch! I have since expanded into other credit unions and banks in the area for various reasons (for example, they couldn't do the loan on my condo), but I still have my JCFCU accounts (and I also have a safe deposit box with them) because they've never given me any reason to regret my choice.
I have been with this credit union for several years now, and I have always been happy with them. They have helped me out several times, such as when I got married and my name changed, and after my mother passed away (she had her accounts here as well and that's actually how I found out about the place). Even when they weren't able to help me directly, such as when I received a check addressed to “The estate of” my mother (and I had no estate account set up because Mom had set it up so as to spare me that expense), they called around until they found a bank that COULD help me. So all in all, I've been very pleased with the service I've received from ACFCU!
