My experience with State Farm so far has been very positive. I got renters insurance from them about a year ago. Haven't had any reasons to file a claim but I am happy that their prices were very reasonable. The customer service while setting up a renter’s policy was fantastic. My agent was very nice, helpful and answered all of my questions. Something that stood out is that they did try and give me the best rate possible, searching for discounts that I might have been eligible for. Overall, it was great experience and I will definitely consider going back, once my current term is up.
I joined Wells Fargo a few years ago and feel it has been an overall positive experience. What I like is the “nationwide” convenience of having their branches all over every state I travel to. Their customer service is always friendly and courteous, not to mention that when I use the drive-through teller option the nice lady always gives my puppy a dog treat when she sees him in the car with me. It is little gestures like that, that make me want to be a loyal customer. So far, so good. I even opened a business checking account and got a free customized debit/credit card for my business when opening the account.
I joined (CCU) California Credit Union my first year of college. During orientation there was literature about the company etc. It is definitely a good choice considering it is a local company. It has many branches around the L.A. area so you shouldn't have any problem finding a location. Customer service varies a little bit, but for the most part you will interact with someone pleasant. When you have questions about your account you can easily call the 800 number and speak to a representative. The online banking feature they have is a plus, with a user friendly interface that is easy to use. Also when logged in there are free tools on their website that give you an idea about various loan rates regarding personal and home loans, certificates etc.
My experience with Progressive hasn't been very good at all. There was a break in on one of my cars and the whole process with trying to get things taken care of was just a terrible experience. Someone broke all my windows and stole my car stereo. I did the right thing and called the company when I found out about the incident and this incompetent woman who was probably fresh out of high school maybe first year in college, handled things in a way that made me switch to State Farm. Not only did they question if my claim was authentic, after I got my windows fixed the woman accidentally locked my keys in my car after inspecting the vehicle, and didn't even pay to get them out. I had to call a locksmith to open the car door to get my keys and pay out of pocket for her mistake.
