I found the tool to be extremely useful. I have a hard time trying to understand the details of credit scores and how to actually interpret that data into something meaningful. The tool/website is very good at giving you something substantial to look at and some information that you might not have thought to ask about. Overall the whole process is extremely simple and I really appreciate being able to read things in terms I understand.
Fantastic bank. It was pretty straightforward getting my CD account set up. The lady who helped me was really down to earth and helpful. It certainly didn't feel informal like other banks can feel at times. It was a somewhat lengthy process, but with the amount of money I deposited, I was willing to be patient. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the service I received, and have had absolutely no problems since. I have recommended Umpqua to friends and family, and I will continue to do so in the future.
I have never had a problem with my Bank of America MyAccess account. I really enjoy being able to log in and view my transactions online. I also like the fact that customer service is really helpful any time I have a problem. They have really cleaned up their act in the past few years. I would highly recommend them.
We've been spending a lot of time at Ace Hardware recently to help my mom with her new house. I finally decided to get an Ace card to start taking advantage of the points. So far, no complaints whatsoever. I understand other cards do give you rewards for more than just the place it came from, but since I'm using the card only at Ace, it makes sense that the rewards are directed towards the store. So far I figure I've saved around $20 which isn't too bad at all. I pay it off each month and that's that. Overall, I've had a great experience with not only Ace Hardware, but the card (and the reward points) as well. Very glad I got it.
My family always used Wells Fargo when we were growing up, so I recently opened a checking account with them. From the moment the application process started, I was extremely well taken care of. Their employees know a LOT about banking and seem much more qualified than tellers at other banks. They all dress really nice, too! There were a few things I was confused about that they had to explain. I gave the clear disclosures area a 4 out of 5 stars because there were a few things even the tellers thought were a bit silly. I deposited $600 and plan on using that account mostly for groceries/shopping. I plan on putting a little bit in each month. They told me this was a better option than a savings account, which I'm inclined to agree with. Overall, my experience with them has been perfect. They're definitely the ones I'll go to with questions if I have them in the future.
Although I've had bad experiences with many credit cards in the past, this one has been the 'lesser of the evils'. The annual charge of $50 did kind of seem weird, but at the time of opening it, I had plenty of funds so it wasn't an issue. I kept the balance somewhat low for the first few months and didn't really pay attention to the high interest. It wasn't until I put a decent amount of money on it one month and didn't pay it off that I noticed the interest was quite high. I try not to put too many purchases on this card, but I know it's there just in case of an emergency. Overall, this card is great for smaller purchases. Now that I"m reading about making advance payments online without a penalty, I'm going to look into that.
This was my first experience with a credit union. I had to do some research to see what it was all about before trusting them with the inheritance I received from my father’s passing. My girlfriend recommended them to me. The one major thing I'd like to stress is the customer service they offered. I have accounts at other banks, but being a “one in millions” customer doesn't get you the best customer service. When I have questions or need to withdraw money, they're extremely courteous on the phone. I've had some great conversations with a few of their representatives (wish I could remember their names!). I've never had any problems with them and the sign up process was stress free. I've recommended them to others and I'll continue to do so. Oregonians Credit Union is great. It makes sense they have such great customer service, since all of us Oregonians are quite nice. They're definitely an amazing credit union.
I have been banking with Bank of America for around six years. In my experience, their customer service team is outstanding. I have gotten many overdrafts overturned because their customer service agents were nice enough to listen to what happened and make a judgment call. While I've paid many fees in the past to Bank of America, I feel like their customer service over the years makes it worth it. Any time I needed something simple in the past, such as a replacement debit card, they were extremely fast and courteous to me on the phone. Aside from their spectacular customer service skills, their online site is a lifesaver. Keeping track of a budget for me is extremely hard at times, but having all of the information online makes budgeting out my month much easier. I never receive a paper statement anymore, which is great. The reason I gave them three stars in “clear disclosures” is because their policies can be hard to understand sometimes, especially when it comes to fees. It's somewhat hard to get a representative to tell you these policies in an easy to understand way, so you're left with lots of fine print to go over if you want to avoid fees. Overall, Bank of America has provided me with more happiness than headaches over the years. People may say negative things about them, but they are a functional bank with many wonderful employees who are extremely nice and helpful. I give them a 4 out of 5.
