I've heard this Auto Insurance on the radio many times a few years back and decided that I would check them out because my insurance was going up and looking to switch. They were very friendly at first and they did offer me lower rates, so I decided I would give them a try. They did offer me discounts for being a safe driver and having a clean record, so this was a perk to me. Accurate Auto Insurance allows you to pay your bill online, which is nice, however if you are late on your payment, they have late fees and reinstatement fees. Because of these fees, it is no longer as cheap as they quote, as they have fees to bring up your costs. Whenever I needed a question answered about my policy, it was frequently hard to get a hold of them. Thankfully I never had to put in a claim! If they drag this much just getting questions answered, they must really dodge claims. Ultimately that is what made me change to another car insurance and ditch Accurate Auto Insurance, the bad customer service. If your a safe driver and just looking for very cheap rates with minimum coverage, then they are a decent choice.
Fifth Third Bank has been a very pleasant experience for me, with an exception. When visited Fifth Third Bank, the customer service was very welcoming and made me feel important. This was very important to me, because I have been to huge banks that treat you like a walking dollar sign. They quickly and easily opened up a checking account for me, deposited some cash I had on hand, which showed up almost immediately on the balance. It took about a week to get the Debit Card, which was about average time with the process. The Fifth Third Bank I visit is near me, so depositing cash or checks is not an issue for me, but when I am not nearby, this is when an issue pops up for me. Fifth Third Bank at least in my area, does not have many ATMs, so if I want to take out some cash, I will probably not find a nearby ATM and have to eat the transaction fee. I recommend Fifth Third Bank, they are very friendly and make you feel like an important customer, just double check ATMs in your area before hand.
We recently had to refinance, so I decided to look around and found Jim Pomposelli. Jim is a great guy, who will put up with your most demanding questions and any information you want. Even after hours when I forgot, Jim Pomposelli was more than accommodating for me. Easily and pretty much always available for whatever you need, which was a nice change of pace from previous loan officers I have had. What was really nice is that he treats you great and is with you every step of the process, explaining every step in detail, what you need to know and look for. While I am not sure he got me the best rate, I might look around more, Jim Pomposelli is an exceptional guy, very patient and explains everything to you, offering great recommendations and understanding the situation you are in.
First Northern Credit Union is an excellent Credit Union that excels in customer service. This credit union if you ask me has written the book on customer service. They are very polite, answer all your questions in a way you can understand, and make you feel like a valued member instead of just another dollar sign. Most importantly, they speak perfect English, all too often with a huge bank now, the service is outsourced and it can be very difficult to understand or communicate your needs. First Northern Credit Union offers very nice rewards for their Visa that you usually cannot find otherwise on balance transfer cards, like cash back or double reward points. They offer many ATMs in convenient locations for me and even have an iOS app you can download and I believe one for android users as well. If you are looking for an outstanding credit union and are eligible, look no further than First Northern Credit Union.
Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express is a very nice rewards card that should be in your wallet. The reason you should carry this card is simply because of the great cash back rewards it offers. You get 2% from purchasing gasoline or department stores, 3% at selected grocery stores and 1% on anything else. The rewards are given to you very quickly and easily without any issues or problems. This card also has no annual fee, a major thing I love about this card. When you first get the card, you get an offer to receive $100 cash back from a total of $1000 in the first 3 months, which is 10% back. Definitely take advantage of that and any other promotion they run every year, it really helps you save some cash. Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express is a solid credit card to have and worth carrying in your wallet.
Having to visit Staples a lot and purchasing supplies I needed, I found out they have a Staples Store Card. This came in very handy because unlike many Store Cards, this one gives you 5% off your purchases. This is really great for me because I have high taxes in my area, so what a great way to save a bit of money when I shop at Staples. The Staples Store card also has no annual fee, which is great. The interest rate is higher at 27.99% but if you pay the full balance off every month, it is not a big issue. If you do a lot of shopping at Staples, I highly recommend you pick up the store card just for the 5% off.
A Chase Liquid Prepaid Card is an alright prepaid card if you do not mind paying a monthly fee. It is great that you can quickly get the card instantly from any Chase bank and for free with a $25 deposit. Unlike most prepaid cards, this one allows you to deposit more balance for free, which I really like. This is probably the best feature about the Chase Liquid Prepaid Card, and more cards on the market should adopt that policy. The $4.95 fee every month for just having the card is a huge negative to me and if you do not plan to use the balance right away, can eat at your funds when you least expect it. Such as your card being rejected when you try to buy something, but forget about the monthly fee. If your looking for a prepaid card that you can quickly load money on, then this is a good one to have.
The Guitar Center Store Card is your standard flavor of store card that is competitive with many other store cards for retailers. It offers 6-months of financing on purchases for any item in the store or 12-months if you purchase a specific brand like Boss. This is the standard of any other store card, which is not a bad thing at all. Interest APR rates of 21.9% - 22.9% is competitive with similar store cards. Overall I think the Guitar Center Store Card is very average, not bad but not great either. If you make any big purchases at the Guitar Center Store, the financing offers are definitely worth it.
As a big fan of Sony products, the Sony Card from Capital One can be a fantastic card to have if you are too. If you purchase a lot of Sony products like I do, such as PlayStation or HDTVs, this card's reward program is worth it alone. You earn 5 points for every $1 spent at a Sony approved store and this can add up very quickly, which let you rake in the rewards just that much faster. They even give you a bonus of 5,000 points on your first purchase! This credit card also has no annual fee, 0% APR until the promo period expires and very competitive interest rates after that expires. If you are a big fan of Sony or just want a great credit card in general, then look no further than the Sony Card from Capital One.
The American Express Green Card is a great card that offers a great reward program. This card lets you earn points on anything you purchase, which is really nice. One of my most favorite features of this card is that it lets you use the points you earned to purchase merchandise from websites such as Amazon.com. This is a major plus for the American Express Green Card if you do a lot of online shopping like I do. This card does have an annual fee after the first year, which is $95 and I do not like that at all. I do not believe any card should have an annual fee and is the biggest negative to the American Express Green Card. It comes with purchase protection so that you are not reliable for any fraud if your card is stolen, which is very nice as some cards make you pay for this. If you do a lot of online shopping to earn or use reward points and do not mind an annual fee, the American Express Green Card is a great choice for a charge card.
The Harley-Davidson Secured Credit Card is an excellent card to have when you are trying to repair your credit. It offers no annual fee or no monthly fee to have this credit card, this is huge to me because I hate paying any unneeded monthly fees. Especially when you are trying to fix your credit and you need all the help you can get. You do have to make a deposit and the deposit is also your credit spending limit. This is a good thing, because you will never overspend and run up debt you cannot afford, you are trying to fix your credit after all. Harley-Davidson Secured Credit Card gives you protection against fraud, so if it is stolen, no sweat and is a nice feature to have. With good management and control of this credit card they will eventually offer you a unsecured card that gives you a credit line without depositing money. Do not be discouraged by the Harley-Davidson logo, this is one of the best cards on the market to help you repair your credit and I highly recommend it.
The Sunoco Credit Card is a great reward card to have if you visit a lot of Sunoco locations. This credit card rewards you if you buy gallons of gas at any Sunoco locations with extra bonus points. This lets you quickly stack up your ThankYou Points to redeem various rewards, a great feature that I like a lot. You can also earn 1 ThankYou Point for every $1 you spend, I like that the Sunoco Credit Card gives you multiple ways to earn points. Another great feature about this card is that it does not have a annual fee, which is a huge plus from me as I hate owning cards that charge you a fee for just having it. Interest rate for the Sunoco Credit Card is reasonable for a rewards card, as I usually see them around 24.9% APR. If you buy lots of gas and visit Sunoco, I highly recommend this Credit Card for all the rewards you can build up quickly.
If you need a travel based credit card, then look no further than the Shell Gas Card. This card offers amazing bonuses for using it during traveling and booking, such as a discount and 10% cash back for staying at an approved hotel. This card also offers 5% discounts on airline tickets and car rentals, which is great for saving money. Finally the Shell Gas Card offers an emergency $1,000 cash or prepaid airline ticket. For travel this card is great to have, but beware of the annual fee of $25, one of the negatives to the Shell Gas Card. It also has a high interest rate and 29.95% cash advance, so be sure to pay off the amounts very quickly. If you do a lot of traveling or vacations, then I highly recommend it, do not be confused because it has the word "gas" in it!
The Chase Sapphire Credit Card is an excellent card to have. The reward points built up very fast from my purchases and especially on big purchases, with was a very nice bonus because I could redeem cash back. Dealing with Chase's customer service for this card was a pleasant experience, I was accidentally late on a payment, so I called up Chase's customer support service and they were able to wave the late charge for me. When I had a Chase bank account, the online combined the two making them very easy to manage and pay every month. I highly recommend the Chase Sapphire Card if you are looking for a great rewards credit card, it is one of the best, just remember to pay the balances quickly!
My insurance agent is Glenn Dougherty from Allstate Auto Insurance and he is about average from previous insurance agents I have dealt with, because of a certain issue. Glenn is a very nice person, always kind and courteous, always made me feel welcomed and important. However, this was only when I could get a hold of him. Mr. Dougherty is very hard to get a hold of and every single time I have called, I would have to talk to his staff who could not inform me with what I needed to know or leave him a message. Glenn would always call me back, but it was always a day or two later when I would need the information or service from him ASAP. Glenn Dougherty is a great agent... when you can get a hold of him.
The IKEA Store Card has very little to no benefits. For one, it has a very high interest rate of 25.99% which is so high, I would recommend not getting one just based on that. IKEA Store Card also does not offer any special financing or rewards for using their card. The only benefit to this Store Card is if you need some sort of furniture from IKEA right away and are low on cash. However the interest rate of 25.99% would eat you alive, if you did not pay it off as soon as possible. You are much better off looking elsewhere or opening up a regular Credit Card in order to make purchases at IKEA. Stay Away.
I used to be a member of United Credit Union and had a checking account opened with them. They made a few mistakes right from the get go that delayed my initial application, but customer service promptly fixed it. Dealing with customer service was just average, they were quick to fix any issues I had, but the mistakes shouldn't of happened in the first place. What really made me switch was the difficulty in finding an ATM for United Credit Union. The website seems to be poorly maintained and certain links to find information will commonly go down or not available online. So you always have to call in and get an address if you do not know where one is off hand. United Credit Union is just OK and they really do not stick out or do anything special from all the other choices you could choose for a credit union.
Decided to join this credit union after talking to coworkers who are also a part of it. This turned out to be a pretty good choice. I really enjoy the fact that I can just apply online and fill out all the information, instead of calling in or doing a bunch of paperwork like at some others I have seen. I have many surcharge free ATMs in the location that are very close by, with many options to pick. I really enjoy this because I do not carry cash, so when I need it, I can quickly grab what is needed without paying any fees or driving way out of my way to find a surcharge free ATM. I love the online banking focus of Alliant, it lets me see my transactions quickly at anytime instead of calling a phone number and slowly putting in all my info over the phone. Had one issue with customer service, they were a bit rude when I had an issue, but this seemed to be the exception. All other contact with customer service was pleasant.
Found out about Chicago Municipal Employees Credit Union from my job and decided to go with them for my direct deposits. Turns out this was a bad idea, all my direct deposits with this credit union were delayed a few days, so I never got my paycheck on time when other employees received theirs using other unions or banks. I was also denied a private loan, when other places approved me, which I have good credit also. Customer service was pleasant, however they said they could not help me with any of my issues concerning the late direct deposits, which was incredibly frustrating. I closed my account and took my business elsewhere after they would not help me with the direct deposit problem, and now I receive my paychecks on time, no issues at all. I would avoid this credit union, I do not recommend them at all.
