I am very happy with PFCU. I had always used a "traditional bank" but then I noticed that the fees were piling up and that, a lot of times, these fees were wrong or were a mistake. That meant I would have to go to the bank and wait in line with my "proof" of their mistake. Normally, I was met by condescending employees who treated me as if I was a criminal for calling them out on their mistakes. Forget that. I love working with the people at PFCU and I wouldn't go back to a regular bank for anything!
We love ESurance. The price is right and on the rare occasions that we have had to contact them, the CSR's are very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I much prefer dealing with a whole company as opposed to the same person every time. Variety is the spice of life. Also, if for some reason your "individual agent" is not available then you have to leave a message. If the reason I am calling is urgent, I want to speak to a real person and not an answering machine. ESurance, while being a cut rate company, is probably the best we have had so far. I had been an Allstate customer for almost 20 years before switching for economic reasons. I should have switched a long time ago. I could never reach my agent when I needed to and this caused a problem on more than one occasion. ESurance rules!!
Paulette has been more than just our agent. She has been here for us through the birth of one of our children as well as my husband's change in career. Whenever we have needed to ask a question or had a problem, Paulette is always there. She treats us like people and not just a number. It feels like a personal relationship, like she is a good friend or family member. I can remember only a handful of times when we have called and she has not been available at that moment. When she was not readily available, we left a message with Hailey (Receptionist) and Paulette would call back very shortly. This is the best agency ever and we would not change for anything!
When we were in the market for a new home we had no clue what we were doing! I had 2 pages of questions and was so embarrassed to give the list to Norman but I did. About a week later, I went to his office and got the list and everything was answered and then some! He gave me information that I had forgotten to ask about! He's such a great guy and a dream to work with. The closing was so smooth and easy. I was scared to death but once it was over and I had the keys, I knew everything was great. Without Norman I don't know what I would have done!!
The interest rate is frightening but we did get one for our daughter before she went off to school. She knows that if it's not on the card, it isn't available. If she had a regular card the statements would probably leave me crying every month. I have had secured cards before that charged me for taking money out at an ATM or as a POS and those are obnoxious. I was getting charged to take out my own money! I don't see that problem with this card so I am very comfortable letting our daughter use it. The money used to replenish it is money she makes at her part time job and she makes all the arrangements to get the money on the card.
He's awesome. Gene was there for us from start to finish. I can't think of a question or concern we had that he could not assist us with. We went in to this experience blind but Gene helped us to realize that our fears, while very real to us, about the buying process were not as bad as we had been lead to believe by others. Our friends and relatives had told us mortgage horror stories and we believed them for a long time which is why we continued to rent for as long as we did. When we realized that our money was being flushed down the toilet we contacted our credit union and now we are home owners. Gene and our credit union are awesome!!
We have had an account at Amplify for a couple of years now. It is primarily used for paying fees and other things associated with our soccer club. Since we were not sure exactly how to set this up, we went to the bank and spoke to a representative. She answered all our questions and made suggestions as to how we could keep track of the expenditures. Once we opened the account our representative was always available to help us. The entire staff is very helpful and professional and we are very pleased with our decision to open our account at Amplify!
Although I have not had the card very long, I am already very impressed! I'm not well versed on the points but some of my friends have told me that AmX has the best bonus program of all the cards. I will start saving for a trip home using my points and then using the card for purchases once I get there! The annual fee seems a it steep and I don't really know why it exists in the first place but other than that, I really am looking forward to the rewards program and seeing what it can do for me!
We are pleased with this card. The interest rate is among the lowest of all the cards we have currently. To that end, we tend to use this card almost exclusively. On the rare occasion that I have had to call their customer service department, the representatives have ALWAYS been kind, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We had a problem recently where someone had tried to use our card online to book a hotel. Because we had never used this particular card to book a hotel or even a rental car, the transaction was flagged and both my husband and I were contacted about the issue. I was very grateful and relieved. We plan to stay with them for a long time!
I am just in love with A+FCU!!! They are so family friendly and go out of their way to be accommodating. One of the most important programs they have, which I have not seen in another financial institution, is the "Green Apple Account" which is geared for kids 12 and under. In the case of our daughter's school, A+FCU reps come out to the school once a month, set up a table in the auditorium, and get kids set up with an account and/or accept deposits. The kids get the chance to learn how to fill out a deposit slip, learn what it's like to wait in line to make a deposit (haha) and get the satisfaction of being able to have an account that they contribute to and that they can withdraw from for things they want. The program has been a huge success at our school and a large majority of the lower and middle school student body uses it. The parents are thrilled with it and with the life lesson it is teaching. Our daughter has been enrolled in the program for almost 2 years and has managed to save about $400.00 for which she is very proud. She recently wanted a game for her Wii system and instead of asking us for the money, she went with me to the credit union and withdrew the money from her own account. The reps could not have been nicer and they gave her the same courtesy and respect they would have given to any adult member. We are so grateful for this program and to A+ for taking the time to come out and show our kids the benefits of saving early!
We have been customers of RBFCU for about 8 years. In that time our experiences have been just awesome. On the occasions that we have had to go in to the branch and speak with someone we were always treated with respect and have never, ever been made to feel as if we were a burden or that we were interrupting them. The service is excellent and the wait time to speak with someone or to stand in line for deposit purposes has never been more than 5 minutes. The drive thru experience is just as pleasant as the walk-in, as is the phone service. They even have an online customer service chat and they are great too! Having been a previous traditional bank customer, I can honestly say that I will never go back to a bank. Credit unions in general seem to appreciate their customers a lot more and I like being treated as a valued member and not just a dollar sign!
We opened a joint account for our when she started college. This allowed her to establish credit and also to do some shopping online since the closest JC Penney to her school was 40 miles away, in Austin. Although we live in Austin, it was not always convenient for our daughter to drive in when she needed some clothing or a kitchen appliance. The only drawback to the card was the interest rate but, while it was rather high, we sat down and looked at that versus the drive in time and gas into Austin and decided to go ahead and get the card. With very few exceptions, it has been an excellent choice. There were 2 instances where one of the items she ordered was sent in the wrong size and another time when a small appliance was the wrong color. Other than that, the experience has been great. Unless a last minute (emergency) item is needed, our daughter shops online. For college kids, this is a great idea. Thanks JC Penney!
