No credit card needed
I like that with this card, one can choose 2 versions. 1 version is only good for best buy items or the other version you can use it as a regular credit card and good for anywhere. I like using it for best buy items since the store has constant promotions of interest free purchases for either 12 or 18 months. I bought a dyson vaccuum for 600ish and just pay like 50 a month. Ifind it super helpful to have when I want to buy things like fridges and washing machines. The online payment is through citi bank which is easy to use
Every bank has an account similar to this. I think US banks equivalent is the silver account. When I worked at BoA, I had the advantage account for free. After I left, I got this myaccess account. This account is best for working adults that have direct deposit. The direct deposit requirement is so easy to meet if you are paid twice a month. This account is better than the ebanking and below the advantage account. The minimum daily balance is harder to meet since I have bills to pay but since I have direct deposit, it is no worries. I don't know how other people get fees but I have never got a single fee. The banking text alerts are really helpful to help track the spendings!
This card is decent but the fact that non-BP gas stations do not earn rebate is frustrating. Since all major credit cards will give at least 1% back on everything. I am not always near a gas station that is own by BP. I also don't like how lame the promotion period is. A lot of gas cards out there give more than .25 cents to the gallon. I never had a late fee but the price on the late fee is fair. I do feel that the grace period is less than normal. Usually grace period is about 30 days. The apr and cash advance rates are high. If you are confused on whether to get this card or not, I would say skip. It's easy to forget to pay this card unless you currently have a chase account. I would explore the other options first. Get this card if you are doing some summer travel.
I got this card after I stopped using my citi student card. This card gets too stars from me since I had it over 3 years and never had a late payment. They won't increase my credit amount. When I open this card my credit limit is $300.Mind you, when I first opened this card I made like $5000 a year and now I make way more than that. I still remember when this card was "dark blue" design. Like any student card, this one has no annual fees or any real benefits. Every bank offers zero fraud liability, in fact I don't know a bank that don't. I feel that there grace period is a little short. Usually it is about 35 days. The only benefit is that I bank at US so I can pay my card off online immediately.
After I turned 18 I got this card. I felt like it was a good way to build credit. After all everyone knows how important having good credit is. There is not much to lose since there is no annual fee. I like student cards since a lot of banks offer unsecured cards that require a deposit. This card does not need that. I feel that the introduction period was a little short. A lot of cards give free interest rates for as short as year to 18 months. Being that this is a student card, the rates are a little higher. Just be careful and pay your bills and you will be fine. Compare to most student cards this one is better since the cash back benefit. Most student cards do not have that.
This sunoco card has become useless to me. I found that the gas stations are not close enough to me. I also moved so this card is quite obsolete. This card would be better if there were more locations. This card is like any credit card, in terms of fees. So there is nothing unreasonable about this card. However the $1 per point seems to translate to 1% cash back. So it feels a generic cash rewards card. I fill my gas tank at least once a week or every other week. I don't feel like i have earned much of a savings. So to really get the savings one has to use it a lot. I find their customer service to be less than stellar.
I would like to say Thank you to citi bank for this awesome card. I was young and did not know how to manage money. This card saved me in the sense that I was able to not accumulate interest on purchases and balance transfers. In 15 months I was able to pay off my debt. If you have debt I suggest using this card. The only bad thing is that Citi is an east coast bank. I live in the west coast so there were no branches here. I had to remind myself to pay early so that I don't get a late fee. Sometimes out of sight means out of mind. I paid twice a month and I did automatic bill pay. By the time I got the statement I only had 3 days to mail my payments.
I got this card when I turned 18 and was in high school. In high school AE was the cool brand and I felt cool if I got their store card. Now that I am older I stopped buying preppy clothes and I stopped going there. I feel that is a good card for young people to build credit in a sense. I liked getting discounts and 15% was good considering that the only other time to buy cheap clothes was black friday. Their birthday coupon is not that special, it just 20% off. Nowdays they have so much sales the coupons are useless. I had never trouble with the company meaning it was easy to pay the bill and their service is always good.
This Marathon credit card is essentially a credit card that gives you gas discounts. There is no lie on how attractive 50cents off the gallon is. I commute 50 miles daily so I would like to save money on gas. However now that stores like costco/freddies/safeway provide this discount, I find this card to be obsolete. I am glad that it was free to join because I would not pay a member fee for this card. After the promotion period this card was really useless since I could get 30 cents off the gallon easily at safeway. After the promotional period was over, I just closed the card.
This card is like a Safeway and Fred meyers but it is a credit card. You can get gas points and Safeway/Freddies and costco does the same. For me it is not that competitive. I like to save money so I buy the kroger brand items a lot and it is great since I can get 3 points. To be honest some kroger brand things are subpar. 1 point for everything else is so common. It is not unique. I find that using a BOA rewards card gets me the same benefits. I moved a couple times so this card at times was useless. I mean it can be used at everywhere but I prefer to use it at kroger stores to get those benefits.
This credit union has left me positive experiences. I am sad to leave this credit union. I find them no longer as convenient. I opened my account in west salem and I did that because I used to work downtown and it was easy access. I wish they would expand more north, the northest location is Woodburn. The only thing I did not like was a membership fee since most credit unions I had membership was free. I felt that this credit union was like a bank. The minimum for savings account was like $250 which is the same as the bank. There are no truly free products per se. I would only do the free checking. When I first open my account I learned that there was an early account closure fee. I was shocked since banks don't do that. If someone going to college like at OSU for one quarter I would avoid this credit union.
As a female I always wanted this card, it is pink and pretty. The other reason I like this card is the alerts. I get deals from this card. During the holidays I get alerts about the secret rewards card. You get a card and you later get to redeem it, and it could be $5- $500. I used this card during the semi annual sales and I use it when the panties are 8 for $25. My favorite thing about the card is the anniversary and birthday gifts. I find it is so easy to earn rewards. I don't use this card super frequently but I have kept it over the years. I am at the Angel VIP status. The $15 off immediately was a great perk too. I suggest younger people to avoid this card as the interest rate is high.
I get mail about this card at least every two weeks. I know people that have this card. I figure it won't hurt to get it so I did. I liked the cash back very much. In ways this card is similar to most cash back cards. It automatically redeems the points for you. What I don't like about this card is the 5% categories, it can sometimes be home and improvement which is useless to me. My favorite is 5% on the gas station since gas is super expensive. I closed this card once the free period was over. I end up with a higher APR and I never paid late but I didn't want to risk it. What I like about this card is that I don't have a checking account at Chase but I could still get online banking. It was easy to manage my balances. Some banks only offer online banking to people with checking accounts.
I found this credit card through mail advertisement. I really get lured into the bonus. It is really easy for me to spend $500 in 3 months. I like to redeem my rewards for cash back or gift cards. When I opened this card I used it to pay for a big bill ( tuition) and I was glad I did. Since I got enough points for $30 and I got my $100 bonus. There is no doubt that I am satisfied with this card. I find this card to be similar to the BoA cash rewards (3-2-1) card. I wish I would get more points on gas. I mean it's okay since that's what Fred Meyers and Safeway shopping points are for. My only complaint is this card looks very similar to my Chase slate card. I often get them confused. I do not use this card for purchases I can not pay off since the interest is not cheap.
I been a customer for 2 years and I would have to say this is like any other credit union. I find that this credit union has a lot of turnover- this holds true for at least 3 branches. So I am glad they are never too busy because they tend to be short.I I plan to close my account once I get everything moved to my new account. Their online banking is way too slow and outdated. It also has a lot of updates. I valued good online banking programs. I find that their interest rates on savings products are no longer competitive. The downtown branch is strange since it only has an atm and it likes to give out $50's. I would choose this place for lower APR for housing.
I am a big fan of keybank. They are always empty when I go there. That means I do not have to wait in lines or wait too long in the lobby area. I been to 5 different keybanks in my region and this holds true. Since they are not too busy I find the tellers really helpful. They do not push sales on me. A lot of other banks make tellers sell all these products. Keybank feels like a small credit union. The workers all know me by name. It feels really personal. The manager Derek at the Keizer branch has the most welcoming smile ever. I really like that branch. At that branch they have little beta fish at the tellers window- it is a nice atmosphere.
I am not usually a big fan of store cards unless it is a Macy's or Nordstrom's card. When I went to college, I need to make some purchases and I did not have a car. The closest thing around me was a radioshack. At radioshack, I had to buy a phone, camera and a printer so I got this card. I got this card to get the discount which was not that great. I think I would been better off to not have this card and look for coupons. The only reason this card is not 1 star because it allows financing. I was able to payoff all my purchases within 4 months. I was not ready to pay interest on purchases especially on Radioshack- the interest rate is too high. Once i paid it off, I closed it immediately. This card was really no good for anything else. Their employees at the store don't really know about the card so whenever I had questions I call the national line.
This is one of my favorite cards. It was really hard to apply to ( I got rejected once). The reason I got this card was that "airline cards" had a way too expensive fee attach to them. Also this card's foreign exchange fee is lower than most banks, since most banks start at 3%. The only reason I got this card was my family and I had a big travel year. We wanted to get the most value out of it. The only thing I did not like is that it is on "American Express" and I could not use it at some restaurants. So I always have 2 brands of credit cards with me, Amex and Visa. Also I find when I use this card at their hotels, I get really amazing customer service. Time to time, they offer free upgrades or they really listen to my "special request" section.
When I was employed there, this was my first card. It is similar to most cash rewards cards. I choose this card since I have online banking and was able to see the variety of rewards. The 2500 points was an automatic $25 to my account and it was easy to set up. What i didn't like about the card is I only got $50 for a bonus since most days it is $100. The interest free period was really attractive and it was a good way to build credit. I would skip the regular rewards since the regular rewards took forever to redeem. Also some of the items were silly like kitchenware.
I felt that the annual fee was too much. Besides this card, the only card that I ever had that had an annual fee was the airlines card. The fee from this card is more than an airlines card. This card is frustrating since I don't get any rewards from it. I had this card as a way to repair credit. I wish I would saw how bad the reviews were. I felt that it was strange that they charge for paper statements. A stamp and paper does not cost $5. The grace period was nothing special. It was very typical, for a card that is aim to help repair credit, I would expect it to be longer. Overall I would never recommend this card. The late fee is about right. The APR is fair since people with bad credit are high risk- I understand that. However I feel that this rate is too high. Once you use this card, you can never pay it off. It is like interest stacking on top of interest.
I had this credit union for over 3 years now. In 2010 I started an account at the branch on the ave (U district). The place was really small. There was no teller services. There was only 1 banker and they did all withdrawals and deposits through the atm that is right outside. My favorite thing is that they are local which means they offer a debit card that has the UW logo on it. In fact is also gold too! I really like how they allow refer a friend services and I got $10 each time. The staff was very friendly and they took their time with me.
The card itself is not bad but the customer service is terrible. I was attracted to the balance transfer deal. Most balance transfers cost 3% of the transfer amount. This card is 0%. However to do the balance transfer I had to call chase customer service. They told me that they don't send credit card checks for this process. Which I thought was strange since BoA and US Bank has credit card checks for customers who want to do balance transfers. When I did my balance transfer the agent asked a lot of information and they told me they never heard of keybank. They asked me a lot of strange verification information like where did I lived in 1998 and what was my first car. This whole process took at least 30 minutes and it was 9PM. I like the 0% APR since that allows me to pay off any outstanding debt without the interest charge. The design of this card is quite unique. It is easy to identify from the back and the front. I wish there was a cash back services associated with this card. The other benefits of this card seem useless to me. Zero liability and fraud protection is what all credit cards offer.
