I joined the Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, two years ago, so I could get an affordable car loan. So far I have been extremely pleased with their auto loan services. They were easy to work with and extremely prompt and courteous with everything they said they were going to do. While I was re-applying to refinance a loan, the loan officer had to call me back a few times. He always called me back in a timely manner. I live a couple of hours away from their nearest credit union, and I was able to do everything over the phone and through the mail. I was also able to get a very affordable low interest rate, which is something that other credit unions had not been able to offer me. A great perk is that during Christmas time for the past two years, they offered to let me skip my car payment on both of my auto loans, and have it tacked on to the end of the loan. The deferment has really helped me out during the holidays. Customer service is excellent with this bank and I highly recommend them. I also recently got a checking and savings account with them. Living far away isn't a problem, because I am able to deposit checks via my mobile phone. I also like that there are no extra fees with this credit union, like other regular banks.
The Disney credit card is great. I made my first purchase with this card on the Disney Store website. I got 15% off my first purchase and the card took 50 dollars off my purchase also, which was perfect since it was Christmas time. You are also rewarded with points for your purchases on the card. For every 100 dollars you accrue, you receive 1 point in Disney Rewards. One point equals 1 dollar. These points can be redeemed at the Disney Store and specific places on Disney property. I used my points to take my daughter to the Bippity Boppity Boutique. I also love that there are no annual fees.
This credit card is okay. It has a few rewards, but they aren't phenomenal. A one-time reward, is receiving 10% off your first purchase, which is okay, but I've received better first time discounts on other credit cards. The TJX card also has a rewards points program. If you shop at any TJX owned store, you get 5 points for every dollar you spend. TJX rewards you with a $10 cash reward to use at their stores only, for every 1000 points you receive. The interest is high and it's pretty much a regular credit card that you can use anywhere.
I've had a Best Buy Card for several years. I was initally given a very large credit line. I've used it to buy really big purchases at their store. I like that they have good "no financing plans" and I've taken advantage of paying the purchases off before the special financing programs end. Customer service has always been great. I can't say that I've really had any complaints except for one. Several years back, during the recession, I made one big payment and paid off my card. Shortly afterwards, My credit line was decreased to only $400. I have no idea if this was because of the recession or because of my credit. I had never paid my card late or had any problems with it, so I was shocked that they had done that.
I opened a Credit One Platinum account about 6 months ago. I have had no problems with it. I'm trying to re-establish credit and I've been very happy with the card. I was given a low credit limit, but I'm happy that the minimum required payments are a decent amount, which makes it a lot quicker to pay off my balance. The only 2 initial aspects that I didn't like was that there is $75 initial fee. The other issue was that it took a very long time for the card to arrive. I was in the process of moving and before I initiated opening the account, I called to verify that it would arrive before I moved. It didn't arrive before I moved and I got no help from their over-seas representatives, who were very frustrating to try and communicate with.
The Gap Visa credit card is one of my favorite cards! There are several great perks about it. You receive rewards points for every dollar that you spend. Once your points add up, you receive a $10 reward coupon attached to your statement. I have several Gap company credit cards (Banana Republic and Old Navy), so I quickly rack up points for coupons. The coupons don't have to be used immediately and have a long expiration date. You can also use your Gap card at any Gap store, such as Old Navy, Banana, Gap and Piperline. The best thing about having a Gap card is that the Gap store frequently has huge sales. If you use your Gap card during these sales, you get an extra discount for using their credit card. For instance, if the in-store sale is 30% off all items, you usually get 45% off instead of 30% off if you use your Gap card. They also send me numerous coupons in the mail.
