No credit card needed
I really enjoyed having the Walmart Store Card while I had it. If you are going to ensure that you can keep track of your finances this is a great card to have for the cash back rewards for gas. In addition to this the $25 bonus for spending $75 that I was going to spend already was a great boon for getting this card. If you're looking for a card to boost your credit this one is not a bad idea, but I wouldn't keep it for the long term.
If you really like Ann Taylor then why aren't you getting this card? The 15% is enough to make me get the card. I've saved probably thousands of dollars on this card. The best part about it though is that you're not just getting 15% off but you're also accumulating points for it as well. I'm so glad I got this card.
As others have stated before there are many other cards worthwhile to get unless you travel frequently. The JetBlue Credit Card exists for only a narrow subset of users and unless you travel often you will get little benefit from this. I would suggest instead that you look into the plethora of other options available that this site lists. If you are a business user though I think that you will find a lot of practical use for this if JetBlue is your favorite airline.
The AT&T Credit Card is not particularly a card you want to keep around. Although if you have the credit necessary to get the card I would suggest using it to get the bonus before you get rid of it. Since there are very few rewards aside from that I would suggest you get something else like a cashback card to make the most of your credit card purchases.
This Carnival Credit Card seems like a rather high interest rate after the first 12 months for a rather specific card. I suppose if you're gonna go on a spree of cruises then this is the perfect card for you, otherwise I would suggest finding something that would be more applicable to your tastes.
The Western Union Prepaid MasterCard advertises that there are no monthly maintenance fees but then charges you 2.95 a month to get their card. This is a rather dishonest way to advertise their card. If you are gainfully employed you won't notice it if you are willing or capable of doing a direct deposit to the bank. This is a very easy way to build credit though, so I would suggest that if you're looking for a way to build up your credit you get one of these bank cards.
I find that this points card is a disingenuous way to encourage you to spend more money on your card. Despite this though the interest for these cards is very low. However I find it much more rewarding to use a cash back card such as the Blue Cash American Express Card. I save far more money using that credit card than I ever would with this Hilton Card.
I got this thinking it would be closer to the Amazon card but sponsored by apple. I was completely wrong. This is my own fault for reading the fine print. It has been useful in helping me pay for a Macbook Air for my fiance for Christmas though. I don't think I'll be keeping the card, but if you're a huge Apple fan then I would suggest that you go ahead and get this if you have any plans of buying anything for yourself or others for the Holiday season that is coming up soon. The Apple Credit Card has a much higher interest rate than nearly any other card I've ever had though. So I wouldn't suggest paying the minimum payments.
I was sad to see this card discontinued. My girlfriend moved on to this card after she had her Matrix card. Great for the first year or so and then the interest rates went up. That's okay there's always something better in the future and without this card and the Matrix card we wouldn't have the outstanding credit that we have today. I'm really thankful that banks offer cards like this for people like me who are struggling to get new our credit score up. The customer service, as usual, has always been great with city bank and they've always answered my inquired promptly.
American Express Gold card really does set the standard for cards. This is literally the best credit card I've ever had. I could live without the fee ($125 a year, wow!) but I think that's just something that you're going to have to live with when it comes to credit cards nowadays. A friend of mine told me that if you called them they could waive the fee but I haven't tried it yet. I moved on to this card after using The Matrix card for a while and there has been a night and day difference. Not only am I happy with it but American Express has always been responsive whenever I call them. I hope your experiences are the same.
The Citi DIamond preferred card which was offered through my bank wasn't bad. Although my fiance was the one who primarily used it she was able to build her credit with this card. I would call this a "beginner's card" and I wouldn't recommend you use it forever because of the steep interest rate. It was very comparable to the Matrix Card that I was using at the time. Thanks to Citi Bank we're on our way to both building our credits with this card so we can eventually buy a house.
I've actually had really good luck with the Matrix Credit Card. It was the first card I got after trashing my credit and because of this over the course of a year I was able to raise my credit easily with this card. I purchased nothing but gas with this card because I didn't trust myself to purchase anything else while I was trying to build my credit and this card was perfect for that. I had the chance to get a similar card with Capital One and they wanted me to put down a $400 deposit. I would actually recommend this card to anyone trying to build their credit.
The Guitar Center Store Card has been a life saver for me. There has been numerous times where I was low on cash until the end of the month and I needed something for band practice and this card saved my butt! It's like a Macy's card, but for Guitar Center! Which is way better than a Macy's card. The interests are a little similar but that's okay it's just suppose to help when you're low on cash. I rarely use this card, but if you're a serious musician I would suggest this card to anyone.
It's a rare thing that you will find an ATM card that will allow you to do all of this for free. It will even allow you to withdraw money from the ATM when you need cash! I haven't had this card for very long but compared to my other cards I can't believe that I waited so long to get one of these. The cash back is higher than any other card I've ever used before. I use the Direct Express Prepaid Card for every purchase I make. I would definitely suggest this card to every person I know.
I've been with capital one a little over a year now and I can say that without a doubt it has been one of the most personable banks that I have ever used. I know that every time I have a problem (rarely!) I can get it quickly resolved. Before this I was with a very shady credit union who believe it or not didn't have my best interest at heart and sadly this relationship didn't last long. Once I got tired of the fees they were trying to charge me for the most inane things and moved on to Capital One I never looked back.
