While the Chase slate card does not offer some of the interesting rewards that a lot of modern cards offer it does have a great 1 year 0% interest introductory and Chase customer service has always been prompt and very helpful, I would highly recommend this card, especially for it's awesome 1 year 0% offer.
Great card with no annual fee, the APR is reasonable and the card offers some of the best reviews of cards in its class. I highly recommend this card.
1ST Bank Totally free checking is awesome! No fees for anything but overdrafting. I had previously had an account at Bank of America with their eChecking but they would charge a nasty fee if you talk to a teller which was really frustrating considering their online and phone service was subpar. With 1ST Bank, while the account is pretty low frills it offers truly free checking and is super easy to use and cheap to maintain.
Unfortunately I had a very negative experience with Citibank basic checking and I was forced to change banks and cancel my account briefly after opening it. Within the second month of owning an account I was charged 60 dollars in miscellaneous fees. I no longer trust Citibank and I would advise anybody looking into doing business with them to do their homework and check their statement.
This has been a great simple checking account. The Bank of America iPhone app lets me manage all of my money between all my account (credit card included), pay my bills, get alerts, and I have unlimited access to tellers if I need them. This is a very good, low frills program that gives you a straightforward checking solution.
The Bank of Americard was my first credit card that I got before going to college and it has been an awesome card to have. While it does have a pretty high APR it is consistent with cards in this class. It also has some of the best rewards out there with 3% Cashback on gas, 2% on Groceries, and 1% on everything else, plus you get a 25% bonus if you transfer your bonus to a BOA account. It has been a really great card with all the bells and whistles and great rewards.
Mokelumne Federal Credit Union offers great customer service. They have a couple of conveniently located Lodi offices and are a great solution if you live locally. Their online services are a bit behind the times though. They are a great solution if you value classic customer service and you don't mind using a local credit union, however if you are into using online banking, mobile apps, or you need the flexibility of a large chain I would suggest exploring other options. Overall, they are a quality choice.
