Getting a loan with Cori Savage was a lot easier than I thought it would be. It did not take long to set up an appointment with her through the bank, and once I was with her, I felt confident that I was in the hands of someone who is interested and knowledgeable. Instead of making sales pitches and leading me on to mortgages with sky-high interest rates that would leave me in debt for a long time, Ms. Savage was interested in helping me to find something that would work for me. She looked at the loan I needed and at my financial capability so that she knew how much I would be able to handle. It was very professional and the experience of getting the loan felt tailored to my individual needs. While with me, Cori Savage was courteous and efficient. She made the process of getting a loan feel easy and worry-free and she was concerned with seeing me as a person and working with me, not taking advantage of me.
New Mexico Central Credit Union is a decent credit union. They have fast service and are a very communicative provider, and the tellers on location are well-informed and pleasant. The application was a quick, easy, secure process. However, the application explanation was not the most clear about the services they provide, and it has been hard to find the information I need at times. While the service is fast and they respond almost immediately to any query or problem I've had, it's very complicated to figure out solutions or answers. Good if you need fast service, not the best if you run into problems a lot.
When I opened a checking account at the Bank of the Rio Grande, I was looking for a secondary checking account at a bank other than my main one, and I was testing the waters for a future savings account. They were glad to have my business and showed it. Everything was explained clearly and very detailed, and the application process was very smooth. The clerk that helped me open my account was not the most informed, however, and had to get help several times, and most of the explaining was done via pamphlets. The only problem I ever encountered was when I had to replace a card, I filled out the order and the bank confirmed it, but never processed it, so I had to redo the process weeks later when it was apparent my new card wasn't coming until I did. It was a time-consuming process. Since then, though, I have had a very satisfactory experience.
City Bank of New Mexico was where I went for my first car loan. While the workers there were friendly and seemed pleased to do business with me, the transaction was made unnecessarily complicated and seemed to proceed very slowly. The amount of information they required was unnecessary and it took longer to get the loan than I had expected or been told it would. However, in the end I did get a loan and paid it off in full much later. If you want quick and hassle-free, this bank may not be for you, but in the end they do come through.
Who hasn't stayed at a Marriott hotel? This card is great for all your hotel needs, with options for points, rewards, and credit. The only drawback is the high annual fee after the first year.
The Shell Gas Card is a fantastic choice for travelers. It features a good percentage of cash back on some well-known and very easy-to-find hotels, as well as cash back on traveling needs like airlines and car rentals, PLUS discounts on many other hotels. There are almost no drawbacks to this card, especially since, if you travel, you'll get enough cash back to easily cover the annual fee and more.
The 0% intro rate of this card is a huge plus if you're just starting out. A lot of the features, like the regular rate and the grace period, are normal, but the late fee is a bit high, so this card would be best for someone with careful money handling.
The Lord & Taylor Store Card seems like a nice card for having a bonus discount when you initially get it, and it doesn't have any drawbacks. However, I wish you could use it in more than a single place.
When I first opened a checking account with Citizens Bank, I was amazed by how easy the application process was, and a little worried about how quickly it went; were these people going to handle my money and my business properly? My fears were, however, quickly assuaged. This bank streamlines everything. It provides in-bank services, online services, and drive-thru services for all needs at all times. The tellers and employees are impeccably polite and friendly, but very businesslike and quick to recognize and address your problems or other needs. I am very happy with Citizens Bank.
The Wells Fargo Rewards card is a great and convenient card to have and offers great rewards for money spent. However, the regular rate can be eye-wateringly high and cause you trouble if you aren't careful, so only choose this card over a card like Capital One Venture Rewards if you are careful about money.
The Belk store card is a great opportunity for department store lovers! Every dollar you spent is points earned toward rewards. However, unlike cards like the Capital One Venture card, it is only usable at Belk, so it is only worthwhile for a dedicated Belk fan.
The Target store card offers an excellent discount and extras like free shipping that are great money savers for Target shoppers - because everyone knows, you can never buy just one thing at Target! The regular rate is much better than my Capital One platinum card.
For a traveler, the Chase Sapphire Preferred card offers some very exciting bonus opportunities when you use it to pay for purchases, something I did not receive with my Discover card. The interest rate is higher than others, but if you travel frequently it is worth it!
