After 2 years with Wells Fargo and this checking account, I can say officially it is the best setup I have ever had at a financial institution. I am never charged unless I use the teller, but even those fees are waived when the mistake is on Wells or my employer. Use of Direct Deposit in relation to my employer having Wells as a bank is truly incredible..the ease of access makes me really appreciative of this bank.
Bank of America has been with me since I was a 10 year old child actor. They provide top notch service, especially within their branches that come equipped with money market managers who know everything about accounts and the market itself. I love the savings account I have with this bank, they make you aware of all the surcharges and brace you to prepare. They work with you not against you. BoA doesn't have many loopholes within their savings account, mostly just using the atm and not using up paper resources (which I am totally for). I think BoA will always be my Savings bank because I can trust them, the branches also make you a friend and ally...which is why I have never felt uncomfortable in a BoA branch.
This account was made to help young people like me out. There is a required minimum amount every month to keep in the savings account ($25), though with help from a manager I was able to keep it at $5 a month. Transfers are incredibly easy with this account and if I have less than the minimum required I can transfer from my checking account and then back into my checking account. Late fees hardly ever come, and help is incredible from the WF hotline. Way2Save is a great first savings account for younger people trying to save.
This Dillard's card is quite good. After a single day of birthday shopping at Century City, I found how many deals work in conjunction with the actual card if you spend at certain times. I received so many rebates from spending at Macy's alone; I was also offered a credit raise after my first two months in possession of the card (as opposed to other cards I have waited 6 months for). The customer service is more than reasonable as well, there was actually an error on an item being overcharged and the balance was replenished in my account before anything. They put customer before protocol (at least that's what it felt like)!
I have been with Discover for over a year now, they helped me when other agencies turned me down (due to no prior credit history). Discover has helped me out of many binds when I reached out to Customer Service, and the Cash Back bonuses are very relevant to my life (movies, restaurants, different establishments each month). The use of online bill pay is very resourceful and the balance every month is very manageable. Overall Discover is a great starting card to obtain, it has helped me move and adapt into the material world.
