I currently have a savings account that is part of my checking account. I love the fact that I am able to save money and watch it grow. The most important to me is long term savings and I was given that option when I opened my account. PNC has looked out for me from day one, and I trust they will continue to do so. I would recommend PNC to every one I come into contact with.
I currently have a policy with The General because I have had accidents in the past and have found that my monthly premiums are much cheaper than with other companies. The only issue I have had with this company was trying to prove that one accident was a "not at fault" accident. It took quite some time to get the required paperwork to prove this because when a new policy begins, all accidents are seen as "At Fault", so be prepared to have accident reports ready to prove otherwise. The application process was very quick and easy to understand, and I had the option to change my due date. I also like that there is a smartphone app that I can use to manage my policy when I am not at a computer to do so.
I have been using PNC as my bank for 4 years now and by far they are the best I have had any dealings with. I like that they offer a checking account along with two additional savings accounts, one short term and one long term. There is also a feature to monitor your spending habits, which helps to see where all your money is going each month and where you can make changes to save save more money. For the most part these accounts are free and you don't find that every where now days. ATM charges a refunded if you have to use a non-bank atm, and most all additional features are free to customers. I wouldn't change banks for anything at this point.
I got this card to be able to be paid for work that I do from home. I no longer use this card because I no longer need it, due to direct deposit. I had to wait for my funds to become available and ready for use, usually 1 day.
I have been a customer for 5 years now and have had no problems while working with PNC. I actively use PNC's Virtual Wallet account, and by far this is the only bank I have ever used that treats me like a person. I had an issue when I went to a local branch and tried to deposit cash in the ATM. When I put the cash in it jammed and I wasn't able to retreive my money nor could I deposit more cash. I went inside the branch, right at closing time on a Saturday, and talked with the branch manager who was very helpful in giving me a provisional credit for the amount of money I had already deposited so that I could still use my funds through my checking account. This process took over an hour but all employees remained in the bank branch until I was satisfied. This is what I call service.
I was involved in an automobile accident where I was hit by another driver pulling an enclosed trailer rented from Uhaul. The driver had not rented the trailer, his brother had. When the time came to fix my brand new vehicle, neither Uhaul nor Alfa wanted to pay for the repairs. I made two payments on my new vehicle while I couldn't drive it because Alfa wouldn't cover the cost of the repairs to my vehicle and collect from Uhaul. I was very upset regarding this matter and have since taken my business elsewhere. I would not recommend Alfa to anyone.
My husband and I recently had 2 car loans with Max Credit Union. We have sold both vehicles, thank goodness. We are so happy to not have to deal with this credit union any more. When we bought the second vehicle I asked if both car loans could be combined so that we would only have to make one payment. We were told that the loans could not be combined. When we sold the first vehicle I went into the bank with cash in hand to pay off the loan and get the car title. I was told that I couldn't have the title because this vehicle was being used as collateral for our other vehicle loan with them. After 2 hours of trying to get the title, I was finally told that I could have it the next morning only if I gave them a copy of the Bill of Sale because they didn't want to run the risk of the other vehicle not selling for payoff should the have to take it back for some reason. In other words they cross-collateralized our 2 car loans without telling us. What a load of crap. We later sold the other vehicle and we gladly closed our checking account because 1 week after paying off 2 car loans we got a letter in the mail stating that there would now be a $2.00 fee added to our checking account each month. We will never do business with Max Credit Union again.
I had a checking account with this bank and had issues with a previous employer about payroll checks deposited into my checking account. When this employer was investigated by government officials my account was placed on hold and only my husband was able to make deposits, write checks, withdraw funds and cash checks. I was completely shut out of my account. We couldn't even use our debit cards. I was unable to pay my bills as I had done previously. I moved on to another bank for this reason.
