I purchased a new vehicle through Deseret First Credit Union at the suggestion of my friend who works in the car business. This credit union is so far the best I've done business with on a car loan. The application process was very easy and totally transparent. Quick approval with a very low interest rate. The one time I've had to call into customer service I was met with a very friendly representative who was able to quickly and easily answer my questions. I highly recommend giving these guys a go when your'e in the market for a vehicle.
I came to do business with Texas Trust Credit Union when taking out a new car loan. I have had a number of occasions to deal with customer service personnel from late payment to questions about the auto loan. They aren't the friendliest people in the world once they already had my loan, but they weren't particularly rude either. They are always able to get me the information I need. Their rate was very competitive and I will definitely look to this credit union the next time I go to buy a car. I would recommend this credit union.
After many years of not having credit cards, the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card is the first card I got. I was happy with the $39 annual fee and no interest on purchases for the first 12 months. The big draw was the cash back on everything you purchase. I end up getting about $10 - $20 per month in cash back rewards which I can just apply right to my bill, which is virtually free money every month. This card is a great card with low interest, almost no fees and one of only two credit cards I carry with me everyday. I recommend it to anyone.
I have used Nationwide Insurance for a couple of years now. I have not had the need to file a claim, but have contacted them at each renewal to talk about cheaper rates and other discounts I might be eligible for. They are always very helpful over the phone and eager to help find discounts and ways to lower my policy premium. They have a great mobile app which lets my pay my bill with a few clicks as well as bring up an ID card right on my phone, which is really handy if you get pulled over. Very pleased with Nationwide Insurance and will continue to use them.
The UPside Prepaid Debit Card has been a great solution after I got tired of dealing with the big banks who are always trying to get another fee over on me. I don't have any investments or any other reason to deal with a bank other than to deposit money and use the service of a debit card. This allows me that service just like any bank with a very low monthly cost. I have my paycheck direct deposited which ends up waiving my monthly fee. There is no charge to use it for pin based transactions and there are a ton of places I can go to load money onto it. It is a great way to get away from banks and take control of your financial situation.
The Amazon Store Card is the newest addition to my credit card wallet, and after offering me an instant $10 savings on the order I was making when I saw the offer, I went ahead and opened the account. I order from Amazon weekly, and coupled with my Prime membership, this card makes ordering even easier. I got 0% interest for 12 months and with no other fees and easy online payment options, this is the logical choice for all the Amazon ordering I do.
After shopping for another insurance carrier after a bad experience handling a claim, I decided on Esurance. Their online application was very easy and I was able to take out the policy immediately online, which was a big plus not having to submit documents via fax or going to an agent's office. In one instance, my credit card on file was mistakenly charged twice for my monthly premium. After contacting the customer service department, they were genuinely interested in resolving the return of that extra payment immediately and followed through on what they said they were going to do. They called me back when they said they would and had the refund processed by that time. They were able to tell me why the mistake was made and explain why it wouldn't happen again. It was a very positive experience in this day and age or poor customer service and was a real testament to how they conduct their business.
This Wells Fargo Secured Credit Card is a good option for people with bad credit to restore their credit rating. Going beyond a typical pre-paid card, it actually reports to all of the major bureaus on your payment history, which is a big plus for anyone who pays their bills on time. However, if you have a strong enough credit score to get a traditional unsecured credit card, this would be a terrible way to go. You are basically paying a high interest rate (19%) on your own money, as opposed to paying an interest rate on someone else’s money (typical credit card). The annual fee and absence of other fees are in line with more competitive credit card, but this is not a good option for anyone that can get a card. You are paying them almost 19% and $25 a year to tell the credit bureaus you’re paying on time, so you have to evaluate how much that is worth.
I have banked with Chase for almost four years. My banker at my home branch has always gone the extra mile for me and is someone I can call on regularly with any need. After a collection agency drafted more out of my account than I had authorized, he was quick to immediately help me by closing the account and opening another one, so that they wouldn’t have the number. He worked with me to try and recover the unauthorized money, and while not successful, he had a genuine interest in helping and the customer service was really great. Highly recommend banking with Chase.
