I have been with Landmark Credit Union for over 25 years. I have my checking, savings, credit card, mortgage and car loan all through Landmark. I can honestly say they are the best people to deal with. They ‘re always very knowledgeable when I have questions. I love that they have online banking and bill pay, fee free ATM. You can even sign up to receive email alerts on your account balances. Keeping you informed of what’s happening with your accounts. They don’t charge any ridiculous fees like other banks either. Their car loans APR are usually the best when it comes to purchasing a used vehicle. Their preapprovals on car loans or mortgages are quick and easy to apply right online in the comfort of your own house. I love the fact that you only need to have a minimum of $5 in a savings account. Since I became a member it’s been great to see how they have expanded and grow in southeastern Wisconsin, but still have a family feel too. I also like that they offer free educational seminars on topics such as managing credit, buying a home and planning for retirement. I have recommended Landmark to many of my friends and families over the years and will continue to do so in the future.
Disney Rewards Visa is a great card to have if you have kids. While the onetime $50 Disney Gift Card after your first purchase is an added bonus. The fact that it can be used anywhere and you get to save 10% on select merchandise after you spend $50 at the Disney store or online is huge for kids and families that are big into Disney merchandise. It also doesn’t hurt to be able to pick your own Disney character design for your credit card. While their is no annual fee the only down side is that the interest rate is more like having a true store credit card. I still love mine.
I’m not a fan of the Dillard’s Credit Card. While your point earned per dollar is similar to other cards I have the simple fact that’s its part of American Express isn’t something I would be interested in. For the simple fact American Express isn’t always accepted where I shop. The interest rate is high compared to others credit cards. The grace period on the card is 3 days shorter than most credit cards. And since I don’t charge gas or groceries on any credit card. I’d never earn the maximum number of points to make the card worth considering.
The Kohl’s Store Card is a great card to have. I love the extra discount that I get in the mail or via email. The extra discounts always seem to come just at the right time when I need a gift or child for the kids. I’ve never bought anything that wasn’t on sale using my card. Hitting the $600 a year spending to become a Most Valued Customer isn’t hard to do. The fact you can use the card in store or online is an added bonus with free shipping. The only downside would be if you were the carry a large balance month to month the interest rate is high.
The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is great if you travel a lot. With rewards that have no blackout dates, miles that don’t expire, and no limits on the amount of miles that you can earn is a huge plus. But if you’re like me that only travel’s maybe two times a year it may not be worth it. The annual fee after a year isn’t some thing that works for me. I’m also not thrilled with the $35 late fee. The cards I have only have a $20 late fee. The APR 13.9%-20.9% is a little high compared to other cards. Not a card that would work for me. But may work great for others.
