The Bank Americard Travel Rewards Credit Card has a decent interest rate and lets you use reward points towards airline miles. Compare to the Delta Travel Rewards card and you have a card that's a little more well-rounded. It's a good card though, especially if you travel.
We go through Farmers Insurance for our home and couldn't be happier with our service. Our premiums have been always been very competitive and they're very thorough in laying out the exact cost of the premiums. I don't feel like we've had anything hidden from us. We had some water damage last winter and filing/processing a claim with them was a painless process. Our agent was very prompt in addressing our concerns and had us fixed up in a hurry. Insurance companies can be notorious for bad service so once you find one that isn't like that, you stick with it. Farmers is that kind of insurance. It's worth it for the peace of mind alone.
If you're a resident of Northern Michigan, look no further. This is the perfect credit union. Signing up with them is very easy, they're extremely friendly and personable. They make you feel like a member of the family and are genuinely interested in helping you. The same goes for their overall customer service, I've never had any troubles with them and they've always been quick to answer any queries I have. Their account options are very good, very up front and transparent. No hidden fees or any tricks like that. Seriously, if you live in Northern Michigan look no further.
If you're a Michigan resident this is a pretty good checking account. Compared to their ChemBasic version. This version offers an interest rate on whatever you have sitting in your account. This interest applies to any account balances 1 dollar and up. Chemical Bank has impeccable customer service that makes you feel like a valued customer. It's as easy as walking into a branch to sign up, you don't even have to meet with a banker they'll do it right at the teller window. I've never had a bad experience with these guys, if you live in Michigan check them out.
Bank of Internet Checking Account is a pretty cool service. First thing, this is an Internet-based Bank/Checking account, there are no physical branches. This is pretty handy for me though as I don't get out of the house very much and a robust online presence is very convenient. It's easy to sign up, the terms are very clear, and the website is well laid out. There is a monthly fee that is hard to avoid but that's a small price to pay for the convenience. If you're looking for an online, non traditional checking account, check them out. They're pretty cool.
My wife and I travel a lot so the Gold Delta Skymiles Credit Card has been very useful in reducing our travel costs overall. It was easy to apply, we got our card in the mail within a week, and the terms have been pretty good. Interest varies but is still pretty mild overall, the reward points really add up over time and you can put them towards flights. The rest of the terms are pretty standard fare, decent grace period, normal late fee but as long as you are judicial about that you shouldn't have issues. By itself it's a pretty decent card but it really shines when you're a frequent flier.
As far as commercial banks go, Chase isn't that bad of an option. It's a simple matter to sign up, you just sit down with a banker and they'll walk you through it. The people working there are generally very nice, I've never had a negative experience. There are account fees that you can get around but depending on your financial situation this might not be easy. They also have a pretty thorough mobile app which makes it easy to do your banking/checking on the go. If you can, I'd still suggest finding a credit union but if that's not an option for you Chase is a pretty good alternative.
Low interest, good incentives, no fees, great card you can't do much better.
Good card if your credit is good. There's a lot of features and rewards for this card. Nice reward incentives, low interest rate, 24/7 concierge service! That's a lot of value. The only downside is it's very hard to get accepted unlike say a Discover Rewards card.
