My boyfriend and I both have insurance with 21st Century for our cars. Once, his car was hit and had to have body work done and he had a rental car for a week while they fixed it. It was only 500 dollars for the 2000+ they put into the car. His starter also died once and he had to get his car towed, which was covered by our insurance. I've also had my car towed and jumped once, and I didn't pay a dime! I've also had them come out several times because I locked my keys in my car. All in all, its not too expensive and their customer service is on point.
Century Federal is one of the largest credit unions in Northeast Ohio, which is perfect for me so I'm always close to one of their locations and one of their ATMS. Everyone working there is great and super friendly, so I never feel so much like a number as I have at other national banks. They also have mobile banking and online baking like other bigger banks, so I find that convenient as well. I'd definitely recommend them if you are in the area.
I have the fifth third 529 savings account. I also have another savings account, a checking account, and a credit card with them so this is just out of necessity. Very basic savings account, nothing too spectacular about it. I don't keep more than 5000 dollars in this account, so my interest rate hasn't doubled yet. I'd recommend other accounts before this one, but there's nothing wrong with it either.
I've had Fifth Third Essential Checking since I graduated from college in 2011 (I previously had their student checking). I can honestly say I've had no complaints. I'm never charged any fees (as I always meet the $500 dollar minimum on deposits) and have never over drafted (I have my savings account linked and over draft protection in case I ever do). I can't see myself changing banks anytime soon, considering I have multiple 5/3 locations close to me. I also love their mobile deposit, which allows you to deposit your check via a smartphone. The best part is, they don't charge you a fee like U.S. bank does.
