I love my Wells Fargo Way2Save Savings Account. I have had this account for many years and it has been a life saver for me at times. It automatically takes money from your checking account when you spend money. At times, I have had up to $10 transferred to my savings and this can add up. I leave it there and then I use it for special occasions, emergencies, unexpected bills, car maintenance and other things. The interest rate is super low but I am not using this fund to make alot of money. I use my checking account almost daily, with my debit card and this allows me to save money without even trying. I am not good at saving so this is a forced saving and it has been so helpful for me. I forget about the account and then when I look at it and see $50.00 I am so excited and grateful that i have it. I like to keep my accounts at one bank or as few as possible and my Wells Fargo Accounts are my most used and so it really helps when I need to keep track of things. I love this account!
My most serious issue with the Connex Credit Union happened many years ago. I went to take money out and there wasn't enough left for me to withdraw and I had just been paid and check was automatically deposited weekly. I called the Credit Union and they said a withdrawal of $500 had been completed that day. I told them I had not done it and they asked me if my card was lost. I had the card on me. They said I could see photos taken from the security camera if I needed to or I should check with family to see if anyone took my card and used it. I suspected a family member had taken it and replaced it but wanted to see the film. I went into office and watched the video and sure enough it was a close family member who took the card and then took money out and then replaced it so I wouldn't know. I was devastated and in tears and the credit union employee was excellent at helping me. I lost the money because I was honest and said I knew the person. Otherwise I could have said I didn't and got the money back but I just couldn't lie so I was out the $500 and learned a huge lesson about guarding my credit cards.
The Crate and Barrel Credit Card terms are fairly standard. They are offering a 0% interest rate for 6 months which does not hold up to my Capital One card which offers 0% for 14 months so that is disappointing. I love the store and so I would probably get one anyway. The interest rate after the 6 months is kind of high also at 26.99%. My Capital One interest rate will be 14.99% after the year of 0% interest. Also the late fee on this is higher and my late fees on Capital One are $25. I like the no annual fee offer. I don't like the fact that you cannot do balance transfers but that makes sense as it's a store card. I would definitely sign up for one but I have too many cards now and am trying to consolidate debt and get better rates on all my cards. Crate and Barrel is an awesome store and has good consumer ratings so I will get one eventually!
I really like the 0% interest until December of 2015. I can pay off quickly without interest fees eating up my payment. The Sony card from Capital one has a great rewards/points system that provides for more value to me on my dollars spent. 3 points for every dollar spent is very generous. The 1 Pt to be spent anywhere is not as good as my Citibank which gives 5 pts to be spent anywhere. Also the cash advance fee of 4% is higher than my other Capital One card which only charged a 3% transfer fee with no minimum charge.
I have Amica Home insurance for my rental. I find the rates to be fairly competitive and reasonable for me as a single woman. I have certain antiques and personal valuables that I cherish and they have helped me to figure out how to protect them in the event of a loss. Their customer service is excellent with very patient and knowledgable reps that provide you with many choices and levels. Mine has medical payments included and I find that very desireable as well as relocation reimbursement in the event of a fire or severe damage or unhealthy conditions. Vandalism is covered and I hope I never need it but have it just in case. The online features are excellent and flexible. I am very happy with Amica
I love the Wells Fargo Rewards card. The 0 interest rate for 15 months is awesome. You can get your balance paid quicker without the interest piling up and also transfer your other credit cards to this card and get them paid off quickly with 0% for 15 months. I love the feature of getting 5 points on all gas, groceries and drug store purchases as well. The no over the limit fee so you can have fun buying and not worry about your limit is great! The 1 points for every $1 spent is also a nice feature. I have this on a City Card and those rewards add up believe me! They sure help when you're Christmas shopping! They can be redeemed also for travel with no blackout dates, or minimum stays, or required Saturday stay. You can use them for hotels and car rentals as well. How great is this! The only negative is the late fee of $35. My other cards only charge $25.
