A local, honest insurance branch that gave me a great quote on my personal insurance and gave stellar education on my requirements in the process. My only complaint is that, this bank being so popular for good reason, the wait times are considerable. They might benefit from some expansion, as the demand is definitely there.
After my move for work in this semester, I initially resorted to a generic bank to house my money while I'm here, but then decided to store my money more locally so I didn't have as much hassle. I chose CFCU but somewhat wish I didn't. The application process was rather long as an in-state worker but a new one, and the locations to get my money were not nearly as plentiful as I had hoped, living in Hartford. As such, I can only give this Credit Union 3/5 stars.
Overall happy with my Capital One 360 Savings account. I only use fee-free accounts, and I didn't want to be out of luck in terms of bank availability while working at a new job this semester. So Capital One saved the day with very compatible branch locations that helped me stay within reach of my money. Furthermore, their integration with other banks to increase availability really helped me make sure I could put away more of my money, even though the application process is a tad bit confusing. Overall, a solid choice. Wish the bank was just a little more personable like my home accounts though.
My experience with SEFCU has been great, no account charges, no fees, no cancellation issues if I need to move accounts since I use this bank while I'm away at college. My only issue with this checking account is that the online portion is finicky, I accidentally locked myself out of my account and after several attempts over the phone, still haven't re-gained access due to an obfuscated robo-call process. Somewhat frustrating.
