I worked with Jonna Wooten when looking for home owners insurance, and everything worked out just fine. She was very friendly and made us feel at ease during the entire process. She answered all our questions, and made recommendations to make sure we received exactly what we needed. There were things I had overlooked and she made sure to bring it up and really helped me out a lot. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for insurance.
I move around a lot, and I need a local branch checking account for my banking needs. So I usually like to try out the credit unions in the area and I was a member of Alliance Blackstone Valley Federal Credit Union for a while. I never had any problems with them and I was happy with the customer service I received. The staff were friendly and treated me very well. As for the actual service, there were no fees or hidden charges, ATMs were all over the place so I didn't have a problem there. No monthly charges or anything like that either. Overall they are a good bank.
My experience with GE Capital Bank is has been great. I've been very satisfied with their service. I use them for a savings account and I have not had any problems at all what so ever. Their customer service is fantastic and they have no fees at all. No minimum balance or anything like that either. There is one thing though, it is an online only savings account. So if you need a local branch to do banking in person, this may not be the account for you. But if you don't mind mobile banking, this account is one of the best out there.
I was originally a member of TCF bank right out of college as I was given a $50 bonus for signing up. Overall, I didn't like this bank very much. They didn't have to many fees, but the overdraft fee was much higher than I thought. The customer service was subpar as well. I switched banks to a much better bank a while later. I don't really recommend TCF.
I've had a checking account with USAA for about 5 years now. They used to only allow members of the military to join and become a member, but they recently opened their services to the general public as well. They have outstanding customer service. I once had an erroneous charge on my account and I called them and they quickly removed it. They also have instant money transfers between accounts. So if you want to move money from one account to another, they will process it instantly. No fees of any kind except an overdraft charge, but as long as you are up on your bank statements, that shouldn't be a problem.
