I have been getting my car insurance through MAPFRE/commerce insurance since I have had my license. Overall, I would say they are a good and reputable company. I have never had a dispute that was not resolved. My main reasoning for the 4 stars instead of 5, was because they increased my premium one year (after accident and ticket free driving) without telling me. I had to find out when I looked at my bank statement. They are a little bit more pricey than other insurance agencies, but I do everything through AAA, so the convenience factor is the KEY reason why I stick with MAPFRE. I wouldn't recommend this to a penny pincher, but if you don't mind splurging a little more for good customer service, this is the way to go!
I love my Target Credit Card. The card allows me to get 5% off of everything as well as free shipping for my online orders. It does have a rather high interest rate, but I am one of those people who pay things off right away, so I am never affected. I also enjoy the fact that I can manage everything online. Since I shop at Target a lot, it is definitely worth it for me. I have yet to take advantage of the 30 days extra on returns, but that is another small perk of the card. If you are not interested in getting the store credit card, I know they also offer a debit card option that takes the money directly from your checking account. I suggest that if you are good at paying bills on time, get this card and start saving.
I have been with Bank of America for about 10 years now. Their savings account is easy to maintain a $300 min. balance. I also get the monthly maintenance fee waived by linking it with my checking accounts. For this I am happy. I also am enrolled in a "keep the change" program", which rounds each of my transactions in my checking account up to a whole number, and transfers the "loose change" into my savings account. This helps me inadvertently save money. Although it seems small, I invest a good amount into my savings via the program. I have never been charged a fee in my savings account, and have actually gotten some money back from BOA since they matched some of my Keep the Change money back when I opened the account. Until something goes wrong, I won't be going anywhere.
I have two separate checking accounts with BOA. They are both Core Checking Accounts. One I use for my bills (i.e rent, utilities, car payments, phone, etc.), the other I use for general spending. I have not really come across any problems except for the monthly maintenance fee. I think that $12 is too much for a month. Since I get direct deposit in one of the accounts, the fee is waived, but the other account gets it each month! That is $144 a month which I think is a little high. My Debit card that is linked to my account has also been flagged for "fraud or suspicious activity" and been cancelled a few times. I don't mind them monitoring my card, but inform me or call me and ask if its "suspicious".
