No credit card needed
I have a checking account at Wells Fargo, and when I first opened it, I was thrilled. I had not managed my money very well when I was young and kind of messed up my credit. I was working on it so when Wells Fargo open my account, it was like a second chance. The problem was they didn't tell me some very important pieces about my account. First and foremost, the fact that I was unable to cash any check through my account. The only check that could be deposited into my account was my payroll check, which was fine, but my VA benefits could not. When questioned about this, they told me that I had signed up for a 2nd chance account and that those things were limited. Why limit the amount of money I put into the bank?? Needless to say, I then had to find another bank that would allow me to do all things I needed to do at one location.
Overall, I have great experiences with Woodforest National Bank. The reps are wonderful people, they always go above and beyond to help me in whatever I need. The fact that they are located in Walmart makes for easy access to my money, even on Sundays!! There's no making several stops, I can shop and do my banking business all at the same place. They also have a great payday loan with their accounts in the event that you run longer on month than you do with money!!
The Limited Credit Card does offer some good perks, such as their point system. After only having to obtain 300 points, I get $15 off my next purchase. I do think however, that their APR is a little high, but the other fees are pretty typical. I am glad to see that they are not going to charge me for just having their card like some companies do. I also like that they have free pant hemming too!!
The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is a well-known company that has been around for quite some time. They have good interest rates and offer excellent benefits. I love the fact that there are no fees for foreign transactions. The only thing I don't like is the fact that there is an annual fee for the card after your first year. I don't like having to pay for a credit card, even one that has great benefits.
The Target Credit Card is Awesome!! You earn all kinds of discounts just for using the card! Even though the interest rate is kind of high, if you pay it off in time you can avoid a lot of that. They don't have a cash advance option, but maybe that is just as well, keeps me out of trouble. It's a great card for someone just starting out trying to build their credit history.
The American Eagle Credit Card can be very beneficial to someone who does a lot of shopping at American Eagle with all the discounts that you can earn just by using it there. However, someone like me who does not, will never earn those credits. I also believe that the interest rate is rather high, but the fact that they do not charge you a monthly or annual fee is plus. I personally would not apply for this credit card simply because there's not many benefits for me.
