I opened up a checking account when I first moved to Lubbock 10 years ago. Good costumer service and never had any problems w/ my deposits or withdrawals. I moved banks mostly because credit unions in general are not technologically advanced. It takes a while for a withdrawal to post to my account, also when I wanted to have things withdrawn from my account they didn't have online transfers available. The people that work at the bank were nice and professional though.
I had this bank account for several years and normally did not have any problems. My problems arose when I tried to close my account, go figure. I closed the account and they were still sending me statements for 3-4 months that showed zero balance, I called them and they said its standard and basically blew me off.
My husband and I signed up for GEICO several years ago when progressive was too expensive. We've never had an issue with their service and will sometimes check to see if it is still the cheapest plan for us and it always is. The only thing we wish were better is the online bill pay. When we pay online it usually takes about a week for the transaction to actually go through. Not a big deal more of a mild inconvenience. Overall we are very happy with this insurance provider.
I have had my wellsfargo savings account for almost 6 years. I originally opened it to save money and not be charged for my checking account and do not regret it! I can easily transfer between my savings and checking account online and have never had a problem with the bank depositing in the proper account. Of course I wish the interest rate would be higher (who wouldn't) I usually use the money in that account as an emergency fund and not really as a way to gain money through interest. The savings account fits my basic needs and allows me to store my money somewhere safely without any fees.
I only opened a savings account here because it is my alma mater. The staff never seems to know what is going on and they have made numerous mistakes on my deposits. At one point I deposited some money into a savings and checking account. The employee put it all in my Roth IRA when I tried to clarify and point out her mistake she asked if I had put it on the deposit slip. She had the deposit slip in her hand and it clearly showed savings and checking. I've tried to deposit in my Roth IRA and they've told me before that I couldn't do it for tax purposes, which doesn't make any sense. If I have questions about my roth IRA there's only one person that handles it and she is older so she takes numerous sick days so I have to wait for her to come back to work and call me back. I do not think that I will keep this bank account long term.
I have been banking with this company for over 6 years. The staff are always friendly and take care of my business efficiently. There was a point in time when they were going to start charging me for my checking account. I went to the bank and was going to close my account and move it to another bank that would not charge me. The man that assisted me offered to open a savings account and bypass the fees as long as I included the way2save feature. I thought it was a fair compromise and accepted. I've not had issues since. Usually everyone that works at the bank is on top of their job and it doesn't matter what branch I go to in any city I've never had a problem.
