I wanted an additional checking account so I opened one up with Keybank. No annual or monthly dues were a big selling point for me. I have always had a pleasant experience with customer service, and fortunately, I haven't had to use customer service very often. I usually prefer small, local branches, but I have happy with my experience with Keybank.
I have been with TD Banknorth for over 8 years now and I have no desire to leave. Every branch that I have gone to has had excellent customer service, and have always answered my questions. At one point I had an over draft fee for a mistake on my part, but I called them up and asked if they could waive it due to my long record with them. They waived it without any questions. I was thoroughly impressed! I also like their smart phone app, and their online checking account. I have also used their mobile app to scan and deposit checks without any issues.
I heard about this card though a friend because they knew I was traveling a lot. I saw the great perks of mileage rewards and decided to sign up. I was a little disappointed there was a annual fee on the 2nd year of $59, but overall the travel rewards made up for it. Overall I have enjoyed using this card, and have never had any problems with customer service. The 24 hour road assistance actually saved me big time 4 months ago when I was traveling late at night. I like everything but the annual fee...
Good base cash rewards! Overall, a positive experience.
The APR on this Menards Store Card makes me a bit nervous, but usually I am able to pay off the balance before interest will build up. The Late fee is also a bit on the higher side, my other credit card only charges $25 for a late fee, and unfortunately I have had to bite that bullet a couple of times already. I like the $10 reward bonus, and think that is a good perk overall. That problem is, there really isn't any great incentive to make me want to switch cards. Sure if this was my first card, I may keep it. Hopefully they make a few changes to make it a little more appealing.
I have been with TD Bank for over 10 years now. I finally signed up to use their easy rewards credit card about 3 years ago. While initially I was apprehensive because I thought this whole reward program had strings attached, but suffice it to say I was pleasantly surprised how straight forward it was. My first year I earned almost $200 in cash rewards, which was a breeze to redeem. I have had one other cash reward credit card from a well known company, and I chose to cancel my account with them because of how confusing it was. The only caveat is to make sure you don't have any late payment fees, as they can get quite hefty. (I had a couple, but I was able to call and they waived one for me due to my long membership with them). Also just because you earn cash rewards, budget your money! Interest payments will eat into your cash rewards pretty quick...
