I had Geico for years up until Geico inexplicably dropped me and my family and were unable to reinstate us. We had no accidents, tickets etc. I called 21st Century and got a better rate, the policy process was super easy. I don't get bombarded with emails, I get emails only about my monthly dues coming up, or that my policy has been extended. I also don't get 100s of marketing emails which makes their emails much more meaningful. I have yet to have an accident so do not know their process for a claim. But if it's anything like the rest of the process I am sure its seemless.
I have had a checking account for about 3 years now. I like it, good customer serice when I opened the account. However, very few human terminals, most are computerized self help terminals. If I go into a branch, I like having a person to see. There are ways to reduce fees with direct. I suggest talking to your banker to get your fees reduced if your fees are hiking up.
I have had Geico auto insurance for about 5 years and never had any claims or issues with renewing or the costs. Then in year 5, I was hit and had to file a claim. The claims process was great, the claims adjuster was great. The only problem is I don't think they did a very good job in pursuing anything from the other company. They didn't do a very thorough investigation and because it was a "he said/she said" case they through up their hands and admitted 50/50 fault. I had some witnesses on my side but they only spoke to them very briefly. After having that on my record my rates went up slightly but not enough to cancel my policy with Geico.
I like banking with Wells Fargo since there is always an ATM around to use and plenty of branches to go to in person. The account is very basic and not a lot of bells and whistles. I was able to get some of the fees waved by making sure I had direct deposit. I like that there is no fees to transfer money to others. I have had good customer service but I have had my card frozen due to "suspicious" at in opportune times. I make a lot of online transactions and their security is very sensitive to multiple purchases in a short amount of time. I like having the security but think its too much some times. It was easy to fix but the timing sucked.
