I have a few different savings accounts for different purposes. One of my main accounts is with Barclays, as I have a Dream Savings Account with them. I have been very satisfied with their service. There are no crazy fees just to store money with them. There are also no withdrawal costs or minimum balance or anything like that. the account is very good, and I really have no complaints about them. The company itself has great customer service and they will definitely do their best to help you with whatever problem you may have. Overall, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good savings account.
I usually prefer online bank accounts, but every now and then you need a local branch to do business with. When they happens, I prefer a good credit union. I was fed up with the big banks and their unnecessary fees and horrible customer service. I signed up with Texas Federal Credit Union and I have been very happy with their service. No fees, great customer service, a convenient location to me, ATM's widely available. I have no complaints whatsoever.
I really prefer online banking accounts. I use capital one for it's 360 checking account. It's online only but I really do like that. Their mobile app features are fantastic, there are no fees with the account whatsoever. Also even if you go overdraft they don't charge you a fee. Instead they take it out on credit. That's pretty cool, and it's something I've never seen a bank do before. Can't go wrong with capital one.
I like the idea of having online bank accounts. They are so convenience for me to manage. Not having to go to a local branch or stand in line, or any of that nonsense. Having a online savings account makes it much easier for me to save. There are no fees with the Ally savings account. They also have great customer service so if you do need to call them they should help you right away. Honestly, if you can handle having an online only savings account than Ally is your best bet out there. I don't think there could be a better bank for this purpose. I guess the interest rates could be higher, but I digress.
