I gave US Bank four stars because although they had a tough time dealing with my issue and coming to a fair resolution, the customer service they provided through the whole thing was absolutely phenomenal! I am not at liberty to discuss my issue, but I will say that US Bank handled it with the utmost care and consideration. They are known for being the second chance bank and that is why I went to them, for my second chance. I still have a savings account with them and I would still rate their customer service at five stars every time I go there!
I have had some issues with other banks and their checking accounts in the past, their fault and my own, so when a friend of mine told me about Simple Checking from the Bancorp Bank, I thought it sounded way too good to be true! Turns out that I actually had one of the Bancorp Bank's prepaid debit cards, so I knew that it was a respectable bank. It's never done me wrong and it continues to delight me and make up for all those others banks from the past! I praise God for Simple Checking from The Bancorp Bank!
I have never had a negative experience with Guardian Credit Union. Before my grandpa and grandma passed away, they had written in their will that upon their demise all of their money would be split up between their children (3) and their grandchildren (6). The three children split 50% and then the six grandchildren had to split the other 50%. Not only that, but there was one more catch for the grandchildren, we couldn't touch the money until we were 21 and until we were 21 it would stay in their savings account at Guardian Credit Union. Obviously there was a ton of paperwork and I think they just split the 50% into six CD type account, I do not remember, I was ten. What I do remember is when I turned 21 and went to get my money, I ended up having to wait almost a month for it because someone had done the paperwork wrong on the credit union's side causing a lien to be placed on my money. I had a lien to be place on all bank account, but that doesn't count for inherited money. I am sure if the circumstances were different, they would be a very respectable place to do business!
After being with Associated Bank for nearly 10 years, I felt as though I was safe from any 'lefthandedness' from the bank, especially when it's in their fine print and against FDIC regulations to begin with. I went with overdraft protection for my checking account and not because I was going to play 'chase the check', but because there is an occasional oops that happens. By federal law, they are not allowed to charge you an overdraft fee until 4pm the next day (after midnight the day of overdraft), so when I deposit $50 into myaccount because I think I am $30 in the hole, only to find out that I was really $65 in the hole because they charged the $35 overdraft fee that morning instead of waiting until 4pm. They fixed it right away, but then continued to do it many more times. There is actually an investigation going on over this I believe. Disgraceful, just disgraceful!
I absolutely love having Erie Insurance for my auto insurance carrier! Not only do they keep the customer in mind- always, but they take it another step further by going above and beyond the call of duty and with what their job actually entails! I remember one time in particular- this will forever be in my mind when I think about Erie Insurance, I had a lunchtime appointment that day and it was pouring out like nobody's business! I mean, 'raining cats and dogs'! Considering Erie is my auto insurance provider, my agent Justin- in the West Milwaukee branch- knows my car, he literally knows what it looks like and knew that on that specific day I was supposed to be coming in around lunch time to talk about lowering my deductible. He seen me pull up and came running outside with an umbrella! How sweet is that?! Didn't even have to mess up my hair! I was able to go through the appointment within 20 mins. and return to work looking just as good as I did when I left and ten mins. early! Erie Insurance will always get five stars in my book!
A friend of mine had asked me to cash her government check using my account that I have had for more than four years. It was a government check, so I did not think there was anything to worry about. Well, my friend was going through an identity theft scam during that time and I guess the person responsible for the theft had called and reported the check stolen thinking that a new one would get sent to her (the defendant- she was arrested), but the IRS had the victims information already and so the automated service didn't even ask when the girl had tried. So, I was at work one day and my boss calls me to his office. I walk into his office to see three police officers and a detective standing there ready to arrest me! Educator's Credit Union had called the local police thinking that I was the one who had stolen my friend's check! They didn't even question if I knew the victim, they could have even watched the security tape of the victim and I cashing her check! If I would have stolen the check, do you honestly think I would be there cashing it with the victim? I mean, come on now! Needless to say, I am no longer a customer of Educator's Credit Union.
