I have a valuable and long professional relationship with Timothy Barlow. He makes understanding the labyrinth of insurance very simple and easy for me to understand. He has an endless repository of patience for our questions and concerns (which he needs, with folks like us!). We always know that we're getting quality service when we speak to him.
Terri Tackett was a dream to work with. I went into the mortgage loan process kind of nervous and worried, because I had very little experience with this sort of thing before. Terri was kind and helpful, volunteering information and answering questions before I even thought to ask them. She helped make sure that the transaction was beneficial to me, and that's more than I could have asked for.
My checking account at First Financial is used primarily for secondary business expenses, as well as the odd personal expense here and there. I find that it is very easy to use, and they have very robust online tools that help make sure that I am on top of any developments, as well as enabling some of the easiest bill pay and online deposit tools I've ever used.
For me, a credit union is much more than just an alternative to big banks. Doing business with credit unions has always been more rewarding for me. I use my account at First Financial for my car loan, mortgage and a secondary savings account. I've had only positive experiences in the time I've been a member. I love how friendly and accommodating they are to my questions and concerns, because I am always a little nervous about my finances and I don't like to get the run-around when I am worried about something I've discovered in my statement.
I have a savings account at Fifth Third Bank because that is also where I have my checking account. I'm not really at a point in life where I'm a habitual saver, so I basically just deposit funds in here in small amounts, when I have extra to do so. To me, a savings account is simply a place to stash my cash so that I don't touch it when I feel compelled to be less than totally responsible with my money. To that end, this savings account is suitable for my needs. It is simple and bare bones. What more do I need?
The primary benefit to the essential checking account is Fifth Third's robust online platform. I don't really care to visit a bank or interact with tellers unless I have to, and it's important to me to be able to conduct my business online. Their website is solid and useful for this purpose. I do not much like their somewhat punitive overdraft fees, but thankfully, I've not been subject to one yet.
The main reason that I opened my checking account at Fifth Third was mostly because there is a branch within two minutes' drive of where I moved in Lexington. I've had bank accounts before, but I don't really do that much other than deposit and withdraw money. And, that is most of what I've done here. I don't ask for a whole lot, other than “don't give me a hard time”. That has never happened here. I've never had a bad transaction or any other problem with my account in over four years. That's enough for me to say that I am a satisfied customer.
