Foothill Federal Credit Union was such a pleasant experience in terms of customer service. The credit union is a place where they treat me and my significant other as people, and not just a number. First off, I love how they have an automated coin counter and apparently it's popular. Also, the assistant manager we worked with was absolutely wonderful. There were some technical challenges with getting our cards, but it worked out in the end. She helped us with setting our accounts, answered any questions we had, and was very pleasant to chat with. She didn't mind chit chatting with us and was very friendly and professional. One concern we had was whether we would be able to get an account with this credit union, since we did not have any association with companies and organizations that were connected to this credit union. However, all we had to do was join a local PTA. It used to cost $5 to indirectly join, but they waived it in the last few years! So it was a very pleasant surprise, because not only did we get accepted (with a credit check of course) but also got that fee waived. We are very happy and thankful to have a lovely credit union like this nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I personally did not apply for Farmers Insurance, so I cannot say much about the application process. I needed to have Farmers Insurance remove one vehicle from my insurance plan, since we have sold it. The process was very easy. I contacted the representative, she asked me when I wanted to have the vehicle removed, and proceeded as so. She was organized, thorough, and helpful. From what I have heard in general, my rates were pretty good for the type of car I had.
USAA is a wonderful bank to use. They offer check deposit at different locations, but it's a perk when your significant other is a full-on member and gets check deposit over the phone. The customer service is always wonderful! I never had issues with them where it wasn't resolved. For example, I wasn't getting a utility electronic bill through my Bill Pay account. The person that helped us was very kind. She asked us multiple questions, tried her best to get an understanding of our circumstance, and communicated with her colleagues to ensure things got resolved for us. Another time, we had an issue with another person being associated with my bills. I was able to see his bills, and he was able to see mine. I talked to a USAA representative and he indicated that unfortunately he couldn't take care of the matter, since the other person needs to remove me. Even though it wasn't cleared, the representative helped us out so much. We felt like a person, not a number. The customer service is the reason why I stick with them and continue to do so. It's probably the best bank I've ever dealt with, especially for it not being a credit union!
US Bank has been good customer service. I remember having my checking account closed because it didn't have funds in it, but I had to find out the hard way when I deposited money into the account. To be fair though, they did apparently try to contact me. The lady at the counter was very kind, assisted me with reopening my account, and we also chit chatted about movies to about our dogs. The part I didn't like was the higher monthly fee associated with the account, after the student account was over for the two months.
