I used M&T Bank for a few years, and when I moved to a location with limited amount of branch offices, I wanted to close my account. While I had it open, I didn't have any real problems or issues, and they performed a very average job that you would expect from a bank. But when I went to close it, I had to call 3 different numbers, and stand in line for a minimum of an hour, on two separate occasions. It was extremely difficult to close my account, and I received condescending remarks and comments during the whole process. I realize that companies want to discourage people from leaving their business, but you don't need to shame them during the process. Since I have closed my account, I have had to go back there every month to deposit my rent check. It doesn't seem to matter what time I go, or on what day. There are always people in line, and it takes me at least 30 minutes to perform a 30 second deposit. Staff more tellers and provide faster service.
I have had the Priceline Credit Card for 5 months now, and haven't had any significant problems or issues. I travel a lot for my business, which is great for this card. The interest rate if you have a carry-over balance is higher than my Chase credit card, but is still pretty decent compared to most. I just wouldn't put a balance on this card that I couldn't pay off each month. I earn a pretty decent amount of points, but I also use Priceline to purchase most of my traveling needs, which provides you with 5 points back for every dollar that you spend. Other than that, I would say that the rewards and points are pretty average for a credit card. Happy with it, and will continue to use my Priceline Credit Card for all of my travel expenses.
I have had an account with First Niagara for years. My parents used this local bank while I was growing up, so I didn't do much shopping around for a checking account. I gave 4 stars, because their mobile banking isn't nearly as good as most other banks. It's very slow, almost too secure, and their app isn't designed well at all. Other than that, I have had great experiences with them. I just recently moved across the country, and because they are a local bank in Western NY, it was too inconvenient to stay with them. I was just using up the rest of my money in my account, when an auto payment I had set up, overdrew the account. I was charged $40, and was facing more fees. I called them, and seriously, within 5 minutes of dialing the phone, the fee had already been waved, and my account was closed. It was so easy, fast, and I didn't even have to put up a fight! They are a great company, and have excellent customer service.
I have had a Lake Shore savings account for several years now, and I will never switch to another institution. They have been so helpful, and provide me with excellent service. I moved across the country, and am keeping my account with them open. I have gained a decent amount of interest over the last few years, and they have worked with me, regardless of the inconvenience it is to them. I would definitely recommend this Credit Union for someone who is looking for great customer service, and a safe place to save their money!
I opened a chase checking account about 3 months ago, and I have had the greatest experience so far. I received a $200 bonus for setting up my direct deposits with them. Their online banking is far superior to any other bank I've ever experienced, and love how important good customer service is to them. I haven't ever tried calling in to Chase banks, but so far, the service I have received has been excellent from them.
I have had the greatest experience with Mercury Insurance Group. They were extremely knowledgeable and seemed genuinely happy to help find an insurance policy that would fit my needs. I just moved from New York to California, and I needed to switch over my insurance. My previous experience working with insurance companies made me dread making that call, but Mercury Insurance has completely changed my opinion of insurance companies. They were so helpful, and followed through with everything they said they would. After talking to them on a Monday, I was fully insured by 5PM the same day. Great experience! I will be a loyal customer with Mercury!
