I was looking for a good online only bank to use. I looked around and found Ally bank. They are a great bank with no fees and fantastic features for online banking. Free checks, no monthly maintenance fees like some of the other banks have, they even give you free anti virus software for your pc when you sign up. No complaints at all.
My family have been with nationwide for over 10 years and they highly recommended them to me when I first got a car. I have been with them ever since and have not had any problems at all. I only needed to call the customer service once but that was a minor issue and it was resolved very quickly. I have not had to file a claim but I imagine that will go smoothly as well. The price is reasonable as well. You can't beat that!
When I moved to a new location I needed to find a local bank to do business with. I had enough of the old big banks and how they treat their customers. So I began looking for a credit union. Michigan State University Federal Credit Union had great reviews so I went with them and I could not be more satisfied. They have no fees, treat the customers right and have very friendly staff. The location was great as well. I have no complaints with them.
After using the big banks for quite some time, and having many issues with them. I decided to check out a credit union. A co worker recommended Money One Federal Credit Union, and I have been with them ever since. They have fantastic customer support, and the bank tellers are incredible to do business with. They treat you like a real person as well. There are no crazy unnecessary fees with the account either. I wish I had switched away from the big banks sooner.
I've been with First merit for a few years now, and they have been alright except for one issue. I'm used to receiving free checks from banks but I believe they stopped doing that, so I'll probably be switching to another bank. If you don't mind paying for checks, First merit is pretty good.
