This Capital One Platinum Credit Card is a good card for someone who is starting to establish themselves in the credit arena. They have a reasonable annual fee which is waived the first year. What isn't great is the APR. It is high if you are planning on maintaining a balance on the card for extended periods of time. If this is the case, there are better options our there. There is no reward program which is not that unusual in a starter type credit card. Overall, this is a good starter card but don't expect too much in the way of bells and whistles. Those may come later as good credit is established.
The PenFed Platinum Rewards Credit Card is a competitive compared to other credit cards in the same category. They have a decent balance transfer rate although I have seen some as low as zero percent for 18 months. They have a good rewards point system which allows members to earn money at common places like the grocery store and gas station. They do not charge an annual fee but do require an excellent credit score to apply. This fact may limit their customer base in light of the current economic times. Overall, I do like what they are offering. However, with a little research, I feel that there are better offers out there.
I have had a great experience with my kohls card. I have used it throughout the year but expecialy around the holidays to manage my purchases. With the Kohls card also comes exclusive discounts and coupons that makes my shopping experience a pleasure. Twelve times a year, I get coupons that give me additional amounts off in addition to sales already going on in the store. This really helps at back to school time and Christmas time. I can use these discounts and then use the card and pay off my balances over a few months if money is tight at that time. If I have the money, I can put it on my charge card and then write a check right at the register to pay off the amount. I would have not fees by doing this. Overall, I find this card to be a useful tool to help me manage my finances.
I have had a home depot card for about ten years now. This account has been a huge help in helping my family meet both our financial goals and our home remodeling goals. We have used it on several occasions to budget and manage larger purchases when doing remodeling around our home. We have used the "buy now, pay later" feature to purchase hardwood flooring, carpeting, bathroom cabinets and a kitchen sink and faucet. This feature allows us to budget our larger expenses over several months, making it manageable. We like Home Depot store and do use it alot. Having the home depot card does make us more likely to go there for purchases. It makes it more convenient when we don't have cash. In addition, if we have a return, and we have purchased it on our home depot card, it is much easier to research if we have lost our receipt. Overall, we have been very satisfied with our card and would recommend it to others.
