The United MileagePlus Explorer Card from Chase, is the least expensive credit card branded by the airline, and it has so many great benefits and perks that is worth getting for any one that flies United. The card’s $95 annual fee, interest rate and rewards program are in line with the industry standard. The Card’s more best features are priority boarding privileges, free United Club passes per year and free checked bags. You can take advantage of all the card’s benefits if you do not mind paying the annual fee BUT the benefits far outweigh the fee so it is worth the cost.
The Brooks Brothers Card is very limiting. It is their store-only version credit card. It can only be used for purchases at their store or orders through their website and catalog. Being a long-time customer of Brooks Brothers it alone would have worked for me. However, with only one Brooks Brothers credit card application, and because I had qualifying credit, I was given the MasterCard instead of the store-only version. I can use it in their stores and wherever MasterCard is accepted. Neither has annual fees. With the card I get 4 points per dollar spent at Brooks Brothers (both cards give this),1 point per dollar at all other places MasterCard is accepted, and $20 Brooks Brothers reward certificates are given for every 2,000 points. You have to read the fine print though because reward certificates cannot be used on catalog or internet orders. Certificates will expire after only 6 months from date of issue. That is a bit limiting. But overall, the Brooks Brothers credit card isn’t bad.
I've had the Discover More Card for awhile. Originally, I had this card with the Open Road version and at the time paid out 5% on gas. They replaced it with a card only getting 2% on gas, which is easily outmatched with a 2% on everything card like the Fidelity American Express or Barclay card Price-line, so I changed to the More card. I got a CLI to $5k at my request and sitting at around $2k for years. I also received a letter stating my APR had been lowered to 17.99%, a 1% drop. But that was no big deal. My other cards are around 12-15%. Fortunately I don't carry a balance, but it seemed that Discover went out of their way to remind me how uncompetitive they are. But beyond all the above , the 5% bonuses and Shop Discover mall are nice, but it is not a competitive card for day-to-day purchases.
With American Express Serve , I have access to a whole new way to pay. It’s not a credit card – it’s a digital prepaid account. I can pay online or through an app on my smart phone or I can use the card I received that I can use anywhere American Express is accepted, if I simply want to pay in the traditional way. There’s no fee to sign up or a credit check. I am eligible for American Express benefits like purchase protection, roadside assistance, and special entertainment offers .It is wonderful and anyone can sign up for a Serve account. Since it isn’t a credit card, there’s no credit check – so regardless of credit history, anyone can enjoy all the advantages of Serve. I like the convenience and security of American Express, and this prepaid account is so easy to use, it makes a great alternative to a fee-laden checking account. I can pay online, easily split a bill with friends, or download the app and use my phone to make purchases. This is really a great card to have.
NFL Extra Points Card is a solid rewards card with a nice 0 percent introductory APR offer as well. I loved receiving 10,000 points when I made my first purchase. This was equal to $100 cash back in the form of a statement credit. Also, I earn two points for every dollar I spend on NFL or team purchases, and one point per dollar I spend on any other purchases. I can redeem my points for merchandise, travel, NFL tickets, or cash-back statement credits. Points never expire. I receive a 20 percent discount when they use their NFL Extra Points Card to shop online at NFLShop.com. There is no annual fee to use the NFL Extra Points Card and the image on the front of my card is themed to represent my favorite NFL team.
I love my Amazon Card , as I shop on Amazon several times a month! I have had the account for nearly 4 years. The account simply grows with you, and it is fairly easy to get. This card is so convenient. I like that this one account for which I do not need to carry a physical card, although they actually send you one. Every time you use it, you earn points on amazon.com & when you earn enough points, you can use those to buy new merchandise. Also you get 2x bonus points when you use the card for gas purchases as well . Another bonus is you get the Prime membership, so long as you have an email with an .edu extension, you can get a Free student Prime membership.
The main reason I chose the US Airways Premier World MasterCard was to take advantage of its 30,000 initial signup bonus as well as the 2 annual companions tickets for $99.00. I have taken advantage of both of these benefits. I fly just enough to make the $89.00 annual fee worth paying so I could imagine those who fly more would like it just as well or better. With flights and travel expenses the way they are today, it would not be smart to take advantage of some of the ways to save and earn from the money you spend on it.
I would not rank the Shell Credit Card as one of the best to have. It is fairly restrictive in the fact it can be used only for gas (Shell) purchases. There is no annual fee to carrying the card (which is pretty standard) and interest rate is lower than other credit cards you may find available but higher than some offering competitive rates. The biggest benefit I can see is that it pays you a credit of 10¢ per gallon . Other than the convenience of using a credit card as opposed to cash (or another card) the 10 cent per gallon credit, there are no enticing benefits to signing up for and having the Shell Credit Card.
If you or anyone you love for is a Victoria Secret’s fan, the Victoria's Secret Store Card is a definite must have card. You will get $15.00 off your first purchase which is a significant bonus. On top of that initial cash back bonus, you will earn points on all of your purchases, including double points on all bra purchases as well as clearance items as well . You get a $10 reward for every 250 points earned. The interest rate on this card is about the same as other credit cards available. There are many perks in having the Angel Card is most definitely a “must have” card for all Victoria Secret shoppers.
I am "credit card" adverse since the biggest thing with credit cards is they make a lot of money because you do not have money to pay for something when you buy it and they usually makes tons off people because of that BUT, this is a great card. If you shop on Amazon (and who doesn't) this is sure to be worth it. Sure you get points when shopping with certain merchants, or 1 point in general, but it is on Amazon where the 3 points per $1 really stack up fast. The card is linked to your account so that you can apply the points as a gift card easily. The APR is the grace period and fees are all very reasonable. Nothing too high or outrageous so if you want to get a card for improving your credit history this is definitely one to get.
