deserve 3.5 - they don't even deserve one. Read
the recent reviews at least.
The description above that Synchrony provides is a complete lie. They're not interested in collaborating with you. They want your money, period. If they don't get it, they'll punnish you. Severely.
Let your balance drop to zero and don't use it for a while? They'll lower your limit. When your credit drops because your limit was lowered, they use that as an excuse to lower it again.
Make a late payment? They'll lower your limit. And report you to the credit agencies. Try to get it resolved, and they'll mostly ignore you, until you threaten legal action. Then they will grudgingly agree to write letters to those agencies retracting their complaint, in exchange for closing your account permanently and being invited to never seek their business again.
Have trouble making a payment using their horrible website? Too bad for you. They'll hit you with late fees and interest, lower your limit, and report you to the credit agencies.
There is no good side here. There might be divisions of their company that actually do well. I've never encountered one. Check who manages the credit for any retail cards you have. Best Buy got wise and dumped Synchrony. Amazon, Sams Club, Walmart, and others haven't got the memo yet.
Run far, far away from this horrible company. If you've never encountered them, do yourself a favor and avoid retail credit cards until you know they're being managed by someone decent (hint: not Synchrony).… read more
